Two things I am waiting for First one why did you replace the whole pump and not just seals if you have to ask that question do not pick up any tools pay someone else to do the job for you😊 Second one it's not engineers fault it's the accountants how many times have I heard this stupid thing accountants don't design things so stop with this stupid saying you are fools😊

2016 Skoda superb , VW engine, they had the bright idea to put a plastic sachet/bag in to the expansion tank with some inhibiter granules. The bag eventually dissolves releasing the granules that then go on to block the heater matrix! I wouldn't entertain a VW based vehicle.

The bags DO NOT burst or dissolve, this is an internet myth. They DO fail in doing their job which is to support the silicate content of the coolant falling out of suspension which is what causes the sandy particles, silicate, sand… THE main cause of problems WAS the factory using mains water and techs doing the same. The answer is G12Evo coolant and distilled water.

Its not the price of the pump thats most shocking,it's how long that pump has actually lasted 4years and already needing a water pump,jesus thought my 2001 zafira was bad.😮

Hi great video, but need to point out that the pump looks like it has actually failed as the water is coming from the hole next to the pulley which would tell me that the bearings and water seal has failed. Also there are no witness marks around the O-ring Seal which you are pointing out hope you don’t mind me pointing this out.

Not impressed with the designers lack of attention to detail. Thin plastic pipes and poorly routed cables rubbing through. We are back to the days of cars which would only last about 100k km requiring major expenses after about 50k.

Its the goverments that demands cleaner fuel efficient engines. This waterpump has 2 thermostats 1 for the engine the other for the turbo. Litlle story I had a 2000 mk4 golf estate with a 1.6 singel 74Kw cam it weight 1200 kilo drove 1liter 12km. Today I have a 2014 mk7 golf like this with a 1.2 4 cilinder 78Kw also weight 1200 kilo and that does 18km on 1 liter.

And I have a 1964 split window air cooled kombi that does 10litres 100km that I bought 45years ago for 30 pounds and am still driving it. 3 engines and 2 gearbox overhauls though at about 1000 quid each.

Yes! Think if there are some electric auxiliary water pumps you'll still need to do a bleed/fill function on a diagnostic after vac filling though

All motor manufacture's count on making money on parts more than selling the cars and these part stockers have to pay vat on anything they have in stock so they always say we can get it for you all robbers .thanks for the video

When I work on my Astra I often tell myself, "Now I know why the Germans lost the war." The VW marketing strategy is to sell the cars at cost or below and make it back double on service and maintenance. Even wiper blades cost twice what you will pay for the identical Bosch item at a spares shop.
