Smashing job :-D The old carburettor can be a pig to get right, but once its clean and the engine has all the dampness driven out it should be much easyer to start :-D The tiny holes in the side of the venturi tube / emulsion tube can catch people out, people often dont know that the tube comes out, so the jets stay plugged:-(. The right heat grade of sparkplug is critical to small engines. I Like the diy filter, looks bang on :-D :-D Motorbikes wont confuse you, you understand big engines and they are far more complex.

+zx8401ztv I rode bikes as a kid but they were older than this one. I need some fresher fuel still. this is last years mower fuel. I will get some super to run through it and see how it does. Thanks for watching!

That's a Teikei TK carburetor I believe. Kits are readily available if you ever need one. Great that you got the machine running!
@vw64manyrd8 жыл бұрын
+Bruce Boschek Thank you for the information... It is a bit new for me and I had not seen that carb before. I am hoping to not spend much on it as I am just going to have the owner come get it and I was hoping it would run for them. I am doing this just for fun basically. Thanks for watching!

Great video! 9 + years ago I bought that same exact bike as a non running project. This past Friday night 4/1, my buddy and I pushed it out of my shed and attempted to get it running for the first time. We cleaned the carb, fresh fuel and had it running briefly then it died and would not restart. Starting fluid in the cylinder and still nothing. Nice blue spark but just will not fire. Seems to have compression. Going to try and clean the carb again, we may have missed something. I would appreciate any and all suggestions ! Thanks

+Mike Steinbeiser My issue was the tiny jet in the center of the carburetor. I could see through the holes in the side but the tiny orifice running through it from top to bottom was clogged. Once cleaned it stayed running for me. Good luck with it and Thanks for watching!

Cool video! Just picked up the same bike for my nephew. Same issue....except I'm still not running. Just starts sometimes and stalls. Occasionally I can rev it up....then it eventually just stalls again. :(

Does your neutral light come on when you turn the key on... or only when the engine is running? Trying to determine if my battery needs any charging. I haven't ran mine in like 10+ years and I put a new battery in it and cant remember if that light comes on with the key or only when engine is creating current.
@vw64manyrd4 жыл бұрын
I don't have a battery that is any good to check. My guess is that with a good battery it would light if in neutral and key on Thanks for watching.
