A handy little VWAP trick. I've done multiple VWAP videos and you should know by now that I like the volume weighted average price. This is a way of using the VWAP to keep you out of choppy markets specifically if you're a trader who likes market volatility. If you're looking at an intraday chart. You might say Scenario 1 is a range and it is nice to trade. But most traders prefer bigger volatility environments. An easy filter would be to check say, the first hour of trading and count the number of times price has tagged the VWAP. OK.P

Additional tip: when the market is indecisive as in example 1, wait for the first tallest Engulfing candle to appear. If it cuts through the VWAP line, enter the trade at the close of the engulfing in the same direction. Engulfing candles cannot be created without institutional money so follow the big boys! 😎

1. Baseline chart (512T): setting the baseline to the price that you are trading away from and seeing the chart dividing into a red section and a blue section is a great way to stay focused on your trading idea. 2. VWAP: the 1, 2, and 3 standard deviations, as well as midpoints, are all important. 3. PSAR (as a trend an 'auto trend'): SLOW: parabolic support and resistance (0.03 min, 0.03 max) FAST: parabolic support and resistance (0.04 min, 0.04 max): Two 'strings' is a strong trend, a 'cut' string is a weakened trend, two cut strings is a broken trend.

Excellent useful content - thanks. I use VWAP as part of my strategy and found it effective combined with MACD on lower time frames on GBP/USD & USD/CHF pairs but only when the markets are trending and not choppy.

Hi Mark, love the course and all your content! I know this must seem like a silly question, but... I'm trying to add VWAP into my tool kit. I'm using it on tradingview as I couldn't find a good one for mt4 but I'm having a bit of trouble knowing which charts to use. I'm using FDAX1! but am really unsure which charts I should be using for the DOW and FTSE. Any advice appreciated, cheers :-)

I use Oanda's feeds on tradingview which include volume data. But I'm also curious if there's a better option.. and whether it's their own volume or forwarded from the actual exchange.

If you download MT5, you can get vwap from here-www.mql5.com/en/code/14484 a lot of platforms don't have it annoyingly!
