VWJAWBREAKER Yeah, I was kind of bugging you about that. LOL I am so glad you did that and I truly appreciate it. Couple things. First thanks for the ride along it gives one a good perspective how it performs. No Heartbreak Hill in Florida?? 🤪 From my vantage point I think my 1641 with my Modified by me 34pict3 and 009 with points would probably hang right with ya. “Sarcasm” more like Behind Fading Fast Ha Ha. Although I did get pulled over for going 101 in a 55. Got out of the ticket because the cop used to own a Bug and Knew they won’t go that fast 😬. Anyway I have two very Important questions One. What kind of seats do you have in Jawbreaker. Two what Rpm were you shifting at under hard acceleration. Last engine I heard on the Dyno was an RY45 Ford NASCAR based engine for a Outlaw Late-model turned that 9800. I don’t think you were quite there 😜
@VWJawbreaker4 жыл бұрын
It’s Florida so no heart break hills here lol 101, your ballsy man! I think the fastest I’ve pushed her was in the low 90’s in 4th gear. These are seats out of a Mini Cooper. They are super comfy and only requires minor customization to make them fit. Found a wrecked one and got the pair for $120. I was shifting right around 6200-6500rpm on that trip. I usually drive her normal and rarely get on her like that. It’s fun don’t get me wrong but I want her to last. Thanks for being here 👍
@sheldonjr7hp4 жыл бұрын
VWJAWBREAKER Been looking for some different seats. Speedo didn’t work when I got pulled over in my younger and dumber days. Stock height suspension starts making some lift at that speed. Not a real good feeling. What ever I do build in the future I’ll be sticking to 5,000 rpm probably. Plan to build it to last a good long time. I live in the Eastern Part of South Dakota not much for long hills in the Great Plains. Just good stretches to get er wound up ha ha. But I’m kinda past that need for speed. Just want that stop light to stop light acceleration. Which my wife told me. But we don’t have any stop lights in the entire county we live in lol. Got me there guess I live in a bit of a bubble.
@VWJawbreaker4 жыл бұрын
Man, there’s nothing wrong with the area you’re in, I’m jealous! I mostly shift this engine between 3500 -4000 at the most, there’s no real need to wind this out as much as I did on the video. Shift points there were at red line but why push the engine that hard all of the time? It’s really not needed. It is fun once in a while but for the most part I drive her like I would a 1600..... just take it easy and enjoy the ride.

Hi buddy I agree with you your bug is cool, I think 2 litre is a good size and we’ll I think I would like to make the same motor you have, if you can assist me on your components used ,carbs, Distrubitor . What is a good compression ratio and why cam size , fk8 is that similar to Engle 110 and was told exceeding more than half inch lift reduces life also have you had any experience with the total seal rings also called no gap , or what video’s address my questions thanks Harry
@VWJawbreaker2 жыл бұрын
There’s a lot that goes into a engine combination and setup… Heads need to match the cam, cam determines the compression ratio, all of that will depend on what carbs you use. Best thing to do is look at the combo kits from cb performance and go from there. FK8 is no close to a 110 cam. Best to do more research and figure out what type of engine you need and for your driving style.

that thing rips! maybe you should remove the bump stops, good thing you are not wearing a bra or else the straps might not like it
