I’d like to know if you fit a LED bar on the top of the nudge bar, doesn’t interfere it with the radar installed behind the grill? If not, how much is the nudge bar and could it be ordered for delivery?

Hello friends, is there any probs with the sliding door with this rim / tyre combo?

Do you have an idea where to get those very nice Fuel Vector Rims?
@marktuckey66572 жыл бұрын
Hi, are those Fuel Vector rims a 20ET offset? Also is there a way I can tell if my vehicle is a factory 3.2t similar to this one? cheers

Wish I could go with 16 inch rims on my Transporter but the TDI450 discs are too big.
@vwkombiman2 жыл бұрын
Yes minimum 17inch required and even some OEM VW 17inch rims will not fit (eg Woodstock)

Can anyone tell me if 225/75 16s on standard suspension will clear guards, mechanicals etc.
@GangaWarrior2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sue. Did you get a response on this? I was wondering the same thing.
@sueneilson8962 жыл бұрын
@@GangaWarrior .. sort of figured it out myself. 225/75 would probably clear if the van was lifted 25+mm with only minor clearance issues at full lock. The added extra diameter raises the gearing enough to have an effect on slow going in first gear, and probably fuel economy in top gear. The main issue would be the ride quality, as all 225/75 AT tyres are 115 load rated, which means they are heavy duty tyres for a heavier vehicle than a lightly loaded transporter. Great for puncture resistance, but worse for ride and fuel economy. I went with 225/70 16s. 103 load rated, which suits my van weight. This is the minimum legal load rating for transporters.These were a very noticeable improvement in ride quality, especially on rough roads, with no economy loss that I can detect. Have had one rock puncture the tread, but that can happen to the toughest tyres.As I carry 2 spares, thats an acceptable compromise for me. Into strong headwinds,put the van into 6th gear, as fuel consumption was better than 7th, but not much. 8.5 l/100 km for all usage, hwy, dirt and 4wd combined. With a 25mm lift, these tyres give 260mm clearance under the motor.. more than some landcruisers. We are very happy with this set up so far. Not a full on 4wd, but capable of getting to a lot of interesting places with a little bit of caution and commonsense.

@@sueneilson896 appreciate the info. Did you use the steel rim that came on the van?
@sueneilson8962 жыл бұрын
@@GangaWarrior …yes. The std 16s are fine. Don’t know why some prefer 17s. A definite step down off road. Also used 25mm spacers over the std springs to get the lift. Std shocks work fine . Made some 15/20mm spacers to drop the diff for longevity. 300 mm clearance under the diff and most of the underside. Very happy with the result, and kept the costs down , and the car 100% legal.

Hi JP - the nudge can be seen here - kombilife.com.au/products/vw-t6-1-nudge-bar-for-vw-transporter-multivan-california-t6-1?_pos=1&_sid=d02397d2c&_ss=r&variant=39597341737039 - from QB

Seems like no one is monitoring the comments anymore. I really wanted to know if the Fuel Vectors were legal without having the fender flares added. The local Tyre dealership said the 20ET offset was too much and it wouldn't be legal.
@missingMBR2 жыл бұрын
They don't look legal without having to flare the guards.

Hi Mark I've been wanting to fit those wheels to my T6 Multivan with a 215/65 or 225/60 AT tyre but unsure of the fit due to the Fuel wheel offset. What is the offset of those Fuel wheels and do you need the suspension lift for them to fit? Also is there any problems opening the sliding door with a wider tyre? I have a Black Edition that you fitted out in 2019 and looking for a more suitable wheel tyre combination for dirt roads than the existing 255/45/18. Thanks Jon WA
@davidr72363 жыл бұрын
Jon, with the Multivan you've likely got brakes that need at least a 17 inch rim rather than the 16 seen here. Most wheels will do just fine off road these days, the old days of alloy rims cracking are pretty much past and the stock wheels carry a lot of weight as standard. If you can drop from 18 to 17 by picking up a second hand set, steel or alloy, and try the Maxxis Bravo AT771 or Cooper ATT, you'll be good for most situations the van can handle without also lifting it.
@jonvause98833 жыл бұрын
@@davidr7236 Many thanks for the info. makes sense now as I thought all T6 vans have the same size brakes. I've decided to keep the original 18" wheels and getting a set of Coopers ATT fitted next week. Upgraded to Bilstein shocks about 6 months ago so dirt road driving should be OK now as no plans to offroad in this van. Thanks.
@davidr72363 жыл бұрын
@@jonvause9883 yep you'll be sweet for just dirt driving. Depending on how long your journey, speed desired or corrugations, dropping your tyre pressure will do the rest for you. My 17 ATTs are 50psi around town but 40-45 if doing 2+ hours of 60-80 dirt and 35 if there's 30-60kph gravel and a few corrugations. Any mainstream brand air compressor with a remote control will make airing back up quick enough, and some deflators you can preset, so the idea of airing down isn't a hassle or time sink. Saves the tracks and your van.
