I am learning how to draw (without this thingie), and it could be useful for example when you have made a sketch and want to transfer that to another underground, such as aquarelle paper, or canvas, so you don't have to do the sketch all over again, but the problem with this thing is, thatif you make a picture and use it, the image will be smaller when transfered. I use my drawing, add a layer of graphite on the back and trace it to the other underground (first I make a print with the printer). And that method has got it's limits as well, because you can't do that with for example A3 size, because almost nobody got such a large printer. For small drawings it is fun, I suppose. In our local 'dollar store' in The Netherlands this thing goes for just 1 dollar 50 or something.

Do u think u can able to do an iPad to iPad like instead of drawing on a paper would I be able to use another iPad to Trace the reflections?

You probably could but if you are using two iPads you could probably use Procreate or another program to trace and/or transfer the image. This tool really works best for analog painting. :)

ok im super confused. i thought the intention was actually that the glass reflects the image onto the paper itself, NOT drawing it from the glass itself. ??

Yes, it's confusing. You'll be tracing to the paper following the guidelines that are on the glass. It takes some getting used to, but it works.

True. Good point. Easy enough to flip the image in photo software.

Is the reflection doubled? It should be cause the glass has two surfaces. Are both reflections equally bright?

Yes. It helps if you have some contrast.

I think adding light behind your pencil/pen drawing can add the needed reflection ( simulate phone light) since your not using a phone

That's a setting in the autolock settings. It would vary by tablet.

Robert, can you flip the image orientation on your phone so it reflects the correct way? I know that in iPhone Photos, under the "edit" tab, when you select the crop tool it will let you flip the orientation of the image.

I think I might have just reflected the image through the photo app. I wasn’t able to find the official app as I recall. You could also use Procreate pocket too.

I see two problems. The image is reversed and it appears that it is restricted to the phone or ipad. That is not what I want. I will always use my desktop, or photos. I also tried the Camera Lucinda, or DrawLucy. Personally I had terrible results, with poor colour value. Dark hair against a dark background was a problem to see what you are "tracing". So, I'm really frustrated. I will continue following your videos and maybe you know of something that may work for me. Tired of looking, tired of poor results. Thanks, J

I think there are a lot of alternatives to this kind of device. You could use a mini pvo projector, as mentioned in the comments on this thread. Or one could invest in an inexpensive lightbox. (My painting students often used this method and just traced images that were printed out.) Lastly, if you're tech-interested, you could use procreate (a drawing app), import the image you want to trace, on a separate layer trace over it, and then print that layer to paper. You would have to transfer it to watercolor paper from there, but it would be pretty easy.

I don't know why you couldn't. Might depend on the shape as to how well it will project in certain areas of it.

I sure wish I would have watched a video on this B's befor I bought it. Seen it and read description on Amazon ordered it and waited impatiently.just to try to figure out how to get it on the paper and not on the stupid plastic. Only to find out that's what they ment,not what was said. It's stupid... I can't draw with that dang thing ! Do better just looking at the pic and copy it. Or place a paper on top and Trace it... I'm mad it's stupid... They make ones for children way better then this dumb thing that cracked my phone being it kept slipping off.. what ever happened to being sued for false advertising?!?! That must make them app games that say they pay but DONT!!!
