That was a great video and I can't wit for Part 2 and see what else may win the coveted 5 G's. Also it's insane how Knuckles Chaotix was never ported anywhere. Heck if Origins included it, it would've elevated that collection's worth tenfold.
@GtotheNextLevelАй бұрын
Thanks Blade! And yeah I really don’t get why Sega will not port Chaotix. I find it hard to believe that it’s difficult; I really think Sega of Japan just wants to keep the 32X under the rug by any means necessary.

People, we're going to church with this one! Honestly this list of games isn't as bad as people make it out to be, and Knuckles' Chaotix is a GEM. G-Con plus Chaotix is arguably some of the most fun I've had on the internet. Can't wait for part 2!

@GtotheNextLevelАй бұрын
In the end I loved my 32X. My parents though.. not so much. Which is why I had to buy a Saturn with my own money. They were done with supporting Sega after the 32X
@jmcclain8237Ай бұрын
@@GtotheNextLevel Understood. It's an obvious shame because with the proper games, i.e. arcade games, the 32x would have been something else. Darkstalkers, S.F. Alpha, numerous SEGA arcade games, along with a dedicated Shinobi 4, Comics Zone 2, etc.. Oh, what could have been. I bought the Saturn but was almost instantly disappointed.
@GtotheNextLevelАй бұрын
@jmcclain8237 I’m still sad about the fact that we almost got a Castlevania 32X game. I’d be pressed to say that the 32X really is the biggest “what if” sega hardware.

@GtotheNextLevel I forgot about that. WOW. That would've been something. 32x is most def. a missed opportunity.

@GtotheNextLevelАй бұрын
The fact that it got the follow up is impressive in itself
@turboDrowsyАй бұрын
I think the 32X selection of exclusive games paled in comparison not just to other add-on peripherals like the Turbo CD, but also to Sega’s own Mega CD. Even without the Saturn on the way, the story of the 32X is tragic. Because people had to pour their blood, sweat, and tears working on this. And by the time the developers were starting to understand the hardware, it’s been discontinued.
@GtotheNextLevelАй бұрын
Oh totally. I love seeing what devs can do when hardware is close to tens of life cause normally you see cool things. With the 32X it’s just kinda sad.
@turboDrowsyАй бұрын
@@GtotheNextLevel I also think it was a little weird that they were go to a cartridge based add-on. Say what you will about the Mega CD, but the audio was probably the main thing that separated it from the original Genesis. And while there was some games that used both the 32X and CD, not many did. And that’s a shame.
@GtotheNextLevelАй бұрын
There’s so many what ifs when it comes to Sega, especially the 32x. Like what if the cart slot on the Saturn could play Genesis and 32x

After Burner was never anywhere near Arcade perfect until the 32X version (30FPS be damned). I'll never understand why magazines and the interwebs for some reason relegate After Burner and Space Harrier to "too old for a mid 90s release" when classic Atari games and Midway games, and tons of other games were still being re-released. I'll have to check some old magazines, but I'm reasonably sure neither game was full normal retail as well, I recall them being $30. It's a double standard as far as I'm concerned, especially since these are the first times they came home effectively perfect in pixels and audio. Metal Head I totally agree with, my only gripes with it is the weapons don't have the tank cannon umph of even older games like Abrams M1 Battle Tank. The music is standard western twang that I also disliked. Motocross Championship becomes much more enjoyable if you hesitate one or two frames at the Start and let all the AI bikes take off, you'll pass them again quickly. Then, hold back every time you hit a jump like in Enduro Racer on Master System and you'll never slow down. I never had any problem punching and kicking the other riders, but I tended to be so far ahead of the pack the opportunity ended before the end of the first lap. My 32Xs and Sega CDs didn't have the stuttering problem this video showed in Corpse Killer, I'm not sure what's going on there.
@GtotheNextLevelАй бұрын
Good feedback. I actually did do what you mentioned the more I played Motocross with the start and going over bumps but I still hated it. IMO if you have to do something like that to basically enjoy the game, than it failed. But yeah all that footage is with real discs on real hardware, and all my other 32X CD games played fine, and the Corpse Killer disc is mint, so I’m not sure either. My standard Sega CD Corpse Killer plays fine. I just call it as I see it. 👍
@gamecomparisonsАй бұрын
Motocross definitely falls short of anything stellar like Road Rash II. But when I compare it to the Jaguar Motocross game it suddenly looks a ton better. Comparing it to SNES games with similar graphical styles, like Super Offroad the Baja, makes it look pretty okay too. I'd probably call it mediocre. I just checked my EGMs and Gamepros and can't find Afterburner 32X until January '95 for $56, and February in more mail in catalogs for $45, so probably not half priced across all retailers like I thought. I also just played three levels of Corpse Killer 32X on my Model 1 Sega CD. The music skips maybe twice per level, but not the graphics. Like I said, I'm not sure what's going on, but that footage suprised me. I like this game for what it is, an FMV Zombie Operation Wolf game. Either way, I enjoyed this video and appreciate the work and time and money that went in to it and that it doesn't just ad hoc the interwebs opines. Thanks for making it.
@GtotheNextLevelАй бұрын
@gamecomparisons Thank you! What I do comes from the heart. I’m harkening back to that old AVGN Sega Cd video and how his copy of corpse killer didn’t work right. Maybe they had manufacturing problems or something. I’m not about to spend $ on another copy to test it. 🤣 And yeah, if you go a few videos back in my uploads when I reviewed every Jaguar game, I covered Supercross 3D and Motocross championship is a gem compared to that total wreck of a game. 😡

For me the FMV games are fun/funny to watch, but miserable to "play" 😅
