Questions answered by someone with ADHD and been using Vyvanse for 1 year. Is Vyvanse addictive? Yes in a sense, that you feel like you are not performing the best without it, so you tell yourself you can't live without it. How do I cope with the Side effects? Insomnia- if I take a pill waking up to late, I have to take a lower dose so I can sleep. Appetite - Force yourself to eat. I could go a whole day forgetting to eat. So I put reminders and prepared food. I get slower than I am normally. So I make sure to be physically active. If you are in a higher dose that is not right for you it can create OCD habits and hyper focus. Skip on the weekends? Yes but it will make you tired. Could work if you don't need to do anything. Helps depression? Well it gives you more energy to do more and get things done. So it might. Withdrawal from Vyvanse- Put me in a coma like feel. I slept 5 days in a row. Just really really tired!

Every time I quit vyvanse I get depressed months later. But it was giving me such bad anxiety this past time. Idk what to do. I kinda wish I never started and just learned natural ways to deal with my ADHD.

Me too. It’s great if I take it, I feel like a normal person. If i try to stop it’s wrecking my life.

Yeah I’m only 16 and it worked great at first! The anxiety was definitely present and jitters/cold sweats too; but I was laxer focused on school work and grades. The results were 4.0 Gpa but eventually high stress and no food begins to take a toll. I worked for second semester freshmen year and all sophomore year. My mind would be racing to fast I would get sidetracked after listening and really trying to process information. I ended up swiping to adderal once again with little results. I think I may go back but with a lower dose.

There is a balance oddly 60mgs was too much 30 wasn't enough 40 made me feel creepy and weird but 50 was perfect. It's about balance.
@aprilhassell1747 Жыл бұрын
@aarongabbard ya theres a balance until that balance eventually stops working. Due to stress or side effects. Best to taper and be done.

not a dr here but how about reducing the dose by 10 mg at a time. a second option is to get on an antidepressant or mood stabilizer :)

This is single handedly the most useful video in my life right now when it comes to which direction I should go with Vyvanse. I still have a lot of consideration, prep and consultation with my prescription nurse. This stuff is not common knowledge but spoken like it is in an honest and pure way. Most Docs will either tell you it's bad, give you their cold professional opinion or stew your mind with a monotonous playback of what they see from some outdated medical entry. Thanks!

My doctor took off on vacation and forgot to rewrite my script...the withdrawl sucks. The muscle cramps feels like your whole body is bruised, you feel like killing yourself, you don't crave the medication but you know something is wrong after taking it for years. Taking adderall is a fast burn always found myself falling asleep on it. I believe Vyvance helped depression and social interaction. I could eat and sleep on it but after a week of not being on it is when the withdrawl starts, skipping a weekends isn't a problem because you don't have to do anything. But having hypersomnia and adhd Vyvance was the only thing that worked for me. But not having it for a week now I'm searching for answers on why I want to punch myself, hate life, have cramps and pains. Saying the withdrawl isn't bad...is an understatement because after 5 days is when the Rollercoaster really starts.
@aprilhassell1747 Жыл бұрын
Its not really skipping because its still in the system for a couple days. Its day 5 withdrawal will kick in.

Not sure if questions are answered here but I'd like to share my struggle. I am prescribed Vyvanse for binge eating disorder. I have tried MULTIPLE medications, therapy, you name it, and this is the only one that helps me the most. The problem is that i get distracted, i cant finish my work tasks, i second guess myself with everything...it's a nightmare. I feel defeated, alone in this battle. I decided to stop 70mg; it's affecting my job big time. I am back to my old disease... Thank you for letting me share.

That is such a high dose to be taking is good not taking it for something like ADHD. 70mg is what someone that has been taking amphetamines for many years and has developed tolerance to the drug.

Quick question. I've been prescribed 50mg Vyvanse for almost 3 years now, but since I can't sleep on it I only take it 3 days a week. I work 4 day work weeks, so I take it when I'm off work. It has made me a recluse and I stay at home and don't go anywhere and I feel like a prisoner in my own body. If I stop all together how long should it take before I start feeling my old self again?

I'm confused. I took vyvanse and day 1 I felt calmer and awake, full of energy. The day after, I was calmer and more focused, with periods of feeling super awake and elevated. Does this mean that my dose is low?

Good informative video. Wouldn’t agree with the withdrawals. Actually I’d argue it’s worse than other substances. Being dependent on elvanse for 10 years plus, when I stopped I had really bad health problems. Bone pain, joint pain, muscle aches, weird endocrine and exocrine function, acid reflux, spine issues.

People do not go to sleep if they inject too many stimulants. I work in a hospital with people after they overdose. Overamping does not lead to falling asleep. None of this information should be taken as accurate.
