THREE Chocobo Mini-Games in FFVII Rebirth | Game Analysis #31-2

Hi Vys, I know it's unrelated video but I needed to make a source correction for the dates. I gave you the wrong Ultimania, the dates came from the ten year anniversary Ultimania, the FF Wikia timeline (pulled around 2018 before the remake edits started) which sourced the ten year anniversary that gave a BC/FF7/Advent timeline, and Remake World Preview which explicitly states remake's bombing date and Jade Weapon 's defeat are both December 12th, 0007. Before in the tenth anniversary, December 9th was the bombing mission (something I missed but noticed after you kept saying it) and Jade was defeated sometime around but on a different date. Interestingly in the tenth anniversary Aerith left the area after Zack's death and the Turks end up in the area to find her. Cissinei and the player turk visit a church in sector 5 to find Aerith and in hopes that Zack would be there. It was filled with crying people, who are there for shelter after something horrible happened from avalanche's starting civil conflict/splitting of differences. There, they are ambushed by anti-soldier soldiers called Ravens. In remake if you focus on the banter between Reno and Aerith, Reno mentions that she is supposed to stay home. Aerith mouths back, and Reno adds "You remember the trouble we went through last time." (We went through a lot of hassle last time). This I believe is referring to October and the Zirconiade, which began to appear above sector 5 as a gray and blue fog called the pocket dimension in the fan translations, but can also be translated to singularity. Here, the Turks fight and kill it. The Zirconiade is meant to kill life so that the LifeStream all coalesces together to load into Omega, to launch into space in a cataclysmic event. Omega is killed/defeated in Dirge. The Zirconiade would be very useful in Sephiroth's plans, and without it, the planet has no means to save itself. Weiss's motivations are...weird, but he effectively made Deep Ground act as the Zirconiade. Jenova itself is similar to both the Zirconiade and Omega, and it is noted that Hoshi (Star, the Planet) is not the only one to behave this way. (The planet is not named Gaia, that, or many planets are referred to as stars, as the sun is the sun but the planet is "Our Star".) Also, ff7 and the Spirits Within have many similarities in terms of "Earth Gaia, alien Gaia" aka The planet's LifeStream, the alien LifeStream. Goddess Minerva, 'goddess' Jenova. Etc. Edit, btw, in the PS4 launch version in the Leaf House if you go inside you will find a 30 day calendar for December. However, after the dlc release on all versions, if you enter the Leaf House behind the counter by the door you will find an October calendar, also 30 days. Whoops, quality control at its finest...

Why isn't there a stand alone game called final fantasy Gold saucer. A completely online game that has updated mini games from all the series. Including card games. You can walk around as any of the ff characters and get different outfits and other things and as new mainline games come out with mini games, they can be added. Imagine assembling a blitzball team with any of the main antagonists or protagonists and playing against people online.

I see the appeal, but i personally wouldn't be interested in that and im a huge FF fan. The mini games to me are great for breaking up the main gameplay loop as well as tying in rewards and upgrades for combat and characters, but as as the only thing in a game id imagine it would be very weak. Fighting in final fantasy is a must. I think Rebirth will basically have what you're asking anyway with different outfits in costa del sol and gold saucer amd Hamaguchi said they developed loads of mini games.

​@@off-meta-michaelI get what you're saying but Rebirth won't have what I'm saying. Well not everything about what I'm saying. You could also have a battle arena. I think it would do pretty well with updated games from throughout the ff series. Could be free to play with micro transactions. Or just a 30 dollar game. Playing against other people I think would be pretty cool.

@@ZrowFoxGivn oh i see, yea that would make it better i guess. I wouldn't play it though. I mean the combat in Rebirth looks stellar, why would i play a stripped down version of some gacha or pay to win? Sorry, im not trying to bash you or anything, just not really in favor of those types of games. I guess though, it would be kinda sweet if you could do co-op or duels at the gold saucer online in REBIRTH, since the combat looks sweet. Maybe that would be an expansion they could add for people to grind out until part 3. Anyway, thanks for responding, sorry if i came off like a jerk not my intention at all, just talking!

I just think it would be cool to have a game where I could play fort condor, blitzball, Queens blood, triple triad, snowboarding, etc against real people. And def not a pay to win game. The battle arena could be turn based, teams of 3, and any main character from any ff game. And you face off against a real person. All of these mini games updated of course. Cait sith and Steiner playing blitzball haha. And yes the combat from rebirth looks basically perfect. Now if they make the battle square online and I can face off against other people, I think that would be cool.

Don't forget the digging too. Looks like they can dig up treasures. Seems to be so much cool stuff you can do on a chocobo

I did not include the digging deliberately since that's just an activity in the normal game context and not a separate game with a different set of rules. But yes, the Chocobos in this game are very much involved in many aspects.
