I did this a few years ago. Still haven't replaced the ECU because I spent $1000 on a custom tune. In my version, I have a starter button setup I got from Jaycar. The car will sometimes start normally. If it doesn't, I do IGNITION ON-PRESS STARTER-RUN FOR 10 SECONDS-IGNITION OFF-TURN KEY-STARTS NORMALLY. Sometimes there's still an issue with the transmission - it won't downshift properly. It CLUNKS! Clearing codes using an OBD2 dongle & phone software (I actually have an android tablet as my head unit which can do this) fixes it. If you start just from the button, as shown in the video, it will throw codes. I don't like driving it like that, since the ECU hasn't initialised properly, and bad things could happen, so a reset as described works better.

Hey mate thanks heeps for your comment. So is that the trick to get it to start of the key is to hold the key in run position or start for 10 seconds then try? And yes I have noticed that gear change clunk down sometimes it drives me crazy. Can I get rid of that by taking it in and getting it serviced by some code removal or something?

When you go to jacar to buy all the shit costed like 35 bucks get a trigger switch instead of a normal off n on one like I did... Just makes it like a fast n furiose car then king haha glad to help 😁

Just found another way to also do this as it iust happend out of no where a week ago and my cars tuned so cost of doing all the modules and then going and getting another tune no way haha just brought the car 4 weeks ago if you plug a obd2 scanner into the obd2 port pin 4 5 or 5 6 cant remember but its the obd2 ground pins plug the scan tool in and bam starts straight up as well mine has a issue still tho alternator is not charging says Alternator terminal F low voltage since the pwm in the alternator or however it is is controlled by the ecu do you know how to bypass it as a rat chewed through the plug for the ecu to regulator so duty cycles at 99% when running now but dont know how to or what wire i need to do whatever with to make the field excite the alternator so it actually powers the alternator cheers

Just got the relay plug size and the same size adaptions to put on the wire so they just slip in and won't move and haven't since. And I didn't care which went black or red cause they just get shorted together by switch. trigger switch works good and it's still working today hope this helps 😁

Or do you mean the switch side in car just drilled hole were noone can see. insert switch on its own no fuse or anything
