nov 15th. wow, he died 20 days later. way way too soon :( imagine what th eworld of music would have if he lived even til age 40, and imagine if he lived to 65 or 70 , then the world would have things we can't even comprehend

@John Adams: Or, another way to think about it-- due to the fact that Mozart was often a very sickly child (who traveled widely throughout Europe), imagine if he would have died as a young boy!

@@Johnadams20760 yep. stress combined with a worsening kidney disease caused his death; due to anxiety and depression due to going independent to pursue music as an art, rather than a strict, limited craft to entertain royals. Mozart was, by our definitions, a countercultural punk, but for that reason, money was scarce, which led to an inability to support his family, which led to anxiety and depression and stress, which, the stress, combined with his worsening kidney condition, caused kidney failure, killing him

@@johncenaplayingstarcraft9580 hmm, well i guess he would be stressed out. .it is such a shame. not to mentoin medical science was not anywhere near where it is today. if it was he would have probably surivived that. it is just crazy though to think he was a month and a half shy of 36 so still 35 years old. which would be the equvilent today of only being out of college for 10 years. and all the masterpieces and amount of stuff he produced by than and still increasing his musical skills. not to mention, i think he picked up varoius musical styles on all his trips from diffrent composers and countries and learend and then modified them to fit his own ways of doing things. if he had lived 20-30 more years can you imagine him and beethvoen having an epic compositional battle. and how much mozart especially would have written? i used to think back i my college days (the mid 90s) how cool it would be to go back in time, create a really good replica of him that people itne 1700s would not know the diffrence and have them bury that, have modern doctors save his life, transport him to the 20th centruy and then have him meet john willams another modern great composers and see what he would have done

He didnt die of kidney failure. Me,as a piano player i studied all the life of Mozart not just from one articole. Thousand and Milions of Documentaries and Articoles,Movies, and the biografy itself. He died of most probably because of the Exhaustion that he had to finish the Requeim in D minor K 626 from september to December. After finnishing the Great Wonderfull and Last known Opera The Magic Flute the unknown man from the guy who begged him to ask Mozart to write a Requiem for he's Wife. And the Night he came Mozart was already Exhausted for only staying and drinking. He start writing non-stop because of the money that the unknown man gave. Already he knew that he will go from the Earth because most of the man who enjoyed to stay here knew when their most precios moments are. After the arrival of The wife,Constantza,he already was at the point of dying. He's last days were in bed with Franz Xaver Sussmayr and writing the Requeim in D. He's Doctor had to do something i dont know how it's called, but you take blood from the body with some kind of machine. And at the day,12 AM-00:00 with the last part he wrote: Lacrimosa dies Illa, that was finnished by Sussmayr and him. Eventually they cant say exactly how he died so. The thing everyone says it's from an infection with some kind of virus that wasnt treated. The kidney failure was rejected by the scientists and yes. What a man. Rest in peace.

I don't think that a Freimaurer song would fit as an athem because to be a Freimaurer is a philosophic convention. 2. It still wouldn't be Austrian though as Mozart used to life in Vienna for some time. He was still born in Salzburg a German city so in fact he was German not Austrian.

Salzburg is it's own country during the 1750s, separate from Austria. Mozart is a Salzburger, not Austrian

But he wanted to be an Augsburger, as his father. Mozart disliked Salzburg. Salzburg lost its political indipendence and became Austrian in 1816, a long time after Mozarts death.

If this were the Austrian anthem, it would be performed badly even more often than the Star Spangled Banner is. Try singing it yourself.

Typical of Mozart's lifelong style, but this work still seems rather boring to me. Probably because I don't really care for how the opera singing is integrated into the composition. Personally, I could really do without it. However, it's also as if his style was either maturing a bit too much for the average listener.. or maybe he was being influenced by other composers at this latest stage of his life. Not sure which, but it seems very flavorless and dry, almost like a seemingly spotless piece of fruit (on the surface), yet with no real taste. Again though, it's probably the opera singing that ruins it for me. The music is still very recognizable or typical of his style. That much is unmistakable.
