There are turns of phrase in the 6th mvt Andante that he reused from the slow mvt of the bassoon concerto, written in June 1774; this serenade was written in Aug 1774.

Please educate me on the KZbin Copyright rules! I cannot be the only one who is a little confused about what you can or cannot do

@@carl.christiansson If you still want to learn about copyright rules, I can help you out. All performances and music recordings are legally automatically copyrighted by the people who made them when they are created. Same goes for all compositions of music. However, most classical compositions are already old enough to be in the public domain, so unless you will upload some more recent stuff like Shostakovich and what not, you only really have to worry about performances and recordings. Some recordings are put into the public domain by the people who made them, but this is not the case for most musical performances and recordings. More commonly, to upload a recording online, you will need a license for the music, which is basically official permission to use the recording from the copyright holder. Some licenses only require crediting the performers, while most will require you to pay the performers to obtain them. You can get licenses from legitimate vendors of recordings, and KZbin has a feature to add licenses when uploading videos. Judging by the description of this video, you do not seem to have a license for this music, so unless this recording is in the public domain somehow, this video is probably in violation of copyright law. Do not assume that just because KZbin allowed the upload, that it hasn't been taken down, that you have credited the performers, or that you are not monetizing this video to mean that you are not violating copyright law. Uploading copyrighted material without a proper license is a violation of copyright law. Now, if the copyright holders to this recording found this video and cared enough, they could issue a DMCA takedown (a "copystrike") and they could even sue if they really wanted to. They probably won't sue you since they don't want to waste time and money on legal fees for a small KZbin video but legally they could. Alternatively, they could do what a lot of copyright holders do on KZbin and just claim the recording and monetize it for themselves while leaving it up and not taking action against you. Even if they do that, I think they could still change their minds later and issue a takedown though. A person doesn't really have to find it and report it manually either, they just need to decide to add the recording to KZbin's content ID system and it will get flagged automatically. This may have already happened to some of your videos, and as a result they may be monetized by copyright holders. If you really want to be legally sound, then either get a license for this recording or take this video down. If you take it down, you could find a public domain recording and reupload with that instead (they have some on IMSLP). Alternatively, you could just leave it up and let what happens happen. Since your channel is small and views are low, and this recording doesn't seem to be in the content ID system, this video will probably be unnoticed for a while, but it could get claimed eventually. Even if it gets claimed, there's a chance they will just monetize, or there's a chance copyright holders will start striking your videos and you will risk losing your channel. Up to you how you decide to deal with this going forward.

@@carl.christiansson Videos and photos other people made are also copyrighted btw, so if you use such copyrighted content (in the video or thumbnail) without permission similar things could happen. Also, I think editions of scores can be copyrighted even if the underlying compositions are not, so those would also need licenses. Like this composition in this video is public domain, but if the score you are using was recent it could be copyrighted. However since you got it off IMSLP I'm assuming it probably isn't, unless it's one of the scores that is public domain only in the EU or somewhere else and not in the US where KZbin is hosted or something like that. IMSLP usually takes you to a disclaimer page if a score you are accessing is public domain in only some regions before they show you the score, so that's how you can know if that is the case going forward.
