At the Toledo plant they also made the Army Mule in the sixties. It was simply a truck bed with the motor tucked under the platform. It was driven by sitting on the platform where the controls were located on one end. The neat thing was that the steering column could be flipped over the end of the platform and the operator could walk while steering behind the beast from behind. The problem in those days was quality control of the civilian vehicles. It was lacking. However, the military vehicles were very well built as the Army insisted on 100% quality control inspection of each vehicle. The civilian copies were only randomly inspected.

Interesting facts about jeeps here in my country 🇵🇭 a lot of them are still being used today but not the SUV Type ones only the military ones that are being use from ww2, korean war, vietnam war, yup the willy's, CJ5, MUTT, 80's and 90's civillian jeeps are still being used today and much more admired than today's jeep. Not just the american jeep you can find here also some japanese jeep designs aswell along with korean ones too!!!

Whilst the WK2 debuted in 2011, from 2014 on the WK2 incorporated some changes that had been planned for 2011 but delayed by sale to Fiat. An important change being the ZF 8 speed transmission which added paddle shifters to the steering column, much more software controller shifting options, fuel economy increases. The spoiler which was tested for downforce for the SRT but was found to improve fuel economy so much they added to all the WK2s. A lot of interior changes and updates to the uconnect system and great engine options. Thus, the WK2 is in its prime from 2014 on.

First car should be Willy's Quad and Willy's MA. Bantam is another company that made this type of car, but Willy's assigned their project. So, well... You can use Bantam as a beginner of Jeep, but you forgot two cars between BRC and MB.

The JK Wrangler is not a bad 4x4, but it is rather difficult to say it is in the same lineage as the 1941 to 2006 Jeep, "Universal." models. Iike them. I am actually going to buy a Jeep Wrangler Sport Unlimited JK Independence JK8. As for the JL, that over engineered disaster with an over worked four cylinder engine working on the edge of self destruction will never make it to my line up. That is why I decided on the JKU JK8 instead. I kept telling the dealer I wanted to see one with the six cylinder and the manual transmission. He kept pushing me into the four cylinder junk. I test drove one I brought it back in less than one city block of driving. It was terrible. The little engine strain to keep the unlimited going. That was a huge negative for me. When I stopped at the light, the engine turned off. That was the deal breaker. I pushed the bypass button and took it back. There is no way any engine equipped with the engine auto stop and start design flaw making it go to zero oil pressure at stops and restarting the engine, over and over again, is going to last as long as an engine that is allowed to maintain proper oil pressure and proper temperature. I am not going to pay for a design flaw. It may save an ounce out of a tank of petrol but the wear on the engine will be worse. I have even opened the engine of a 2015 Chevrolet Impala with low usage and already saw significant scoring on cam shaft surfaces. I know that is a different make and model. But that engine is going through the automated turning off, letting the oil pressure drop to nothing, and the temperature to start changing, over and over. The cam surfaces were obviously scored from the low oil pressure during start ups. I opened the engine to change a bad valve, which may or may not have been related to the constant restarting under no oil pressure. There will likely never be a JL in my future.
