You have so much determination to bake such difficult bread. Totally admire and salute you. This vdo also have helped me a lot cos I could not create steam all along. Now, I know to use the wet towel and put on top. Will try it. Thank you so much. PS - Will be a while before I could bake. Weather too hot to turn on oven. LOL!

Your video is very detailed . I have learned a lot especially shaping. How do you make sure the bottom also come out golden and baked?
So much better than my baguette this morning from our best French bakery, St. Honore. Their baguettes are so inconsistent! Hooray to yours! Is Lavva rock the best for baking ?

"The perfect loaf" -one of my favorite baker and blogger wrote about lava rock in his blog " Lava rocks are a primo choice because they get extremely hot, don’t break down easily, and have tons of jagged sides and crevices for an incredible increase in surface area. What’s the big deal about surface area? As cooler water comes into contact with a blisteringly hot surface, it instantly turns to steam. The more hot surface area you have, the more steam you generate……" I think it is a very good choice too:)
