5000 days! That’s almost 14 years. It’s nice to see you doing well in Taiwan. I can’t remember since when did I subscribe your channel. But I do remember your hair style in the first few videos. Watching you explaining Taiwanese culture in English is always entertaining. Cheers!

I had participated a company's project in Johannesburg and been stayed there for 3 months at 2014, I think that's why I feel kind of familiar when I learnt that you are from SA. Just booked your channel, and I like what you just shared to us about your valuable experience in this film, in particular of how you manage a friendly educational environment to your kids. Glade to learn that you love Taiwan and hope you enjoy your life here.

I’m sure your wife was also glad that you decided to live in Taiwan, because she got to stay in her motherland. More Taiwanese should watch your videos. We somehow take what you mentioned about Taiwan for granted and don’t appreciate how blessed we are to have lived on this island. I saw your kids splashing water against the backdrop of the turtle island toward the end of the video. Awesome! That’s my hometown. Learning a language takes time and persistence. I finished my education in Taiwan and try to learn English every day. For me there is no end in sight on this language learning journey. Good luck with your Chinese learning and KZbin channel. Keep up the good work.

Fabulous video Nathan - really enjoyed it and I can testify to how you have grown and matured since moving to Taiwan. Well done you on all your accomplishments!!
Before some of my English teachers came from South of Africa aswell. I know that place is not safe especially in the evening. Therefore, I think you make an exact decision that you live in Taiwan with your family. II also want to thank you for your contribution to promote Taiwan's beauty to oversease friends

I lived in SA during my primary school life, I loved the free and outdoor after school life. I had really trouble learning Afrikaans and Xhosa (maybe all forgotten) But when I was 13, we moved back to TW. TW is really safe and convenience compared to SA, I remembered sisi saying about our neighbor being shot ( I was shocked, a crime so near me.......) But I loved the beach in South Africa ( I lived in East London, really beautiful beaches!)

There used to be a big Taiwanese expat community in South Africa. South Africa sure has changed a lot. It would be a much more amazing place if it were more economically stable and if there was less crime. Such a pity. On an unrelated note, my grandfather was the mayor or Port Elizabeth way back in the day.

I just subscribed to your KZbin channel. Taiwan is indeed a great nation to live and raise children. One suggestion, I think your vocabulary teaching is wonderful but a bit too speedy for average learners. Maybe you can reduce the number of words and slow down the speed on that portion. Cheers and Merry Christmas from Dallas.

I would like to suggest that you use your English program to introduce Taiwan’s well-known companies, as well as Taiwan’s mobile phones, computers, and electric vehicle parts related companies. For this part, you can ask the Industrial Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs to help you communicate and arrange with various companies.Including all Taiwan IT industry...If you introduce Taiwan to the world, the Ministry of Economic Affairs should assist you and pay you the production cost

所有影片都提及你的家鄉南非,即便3年多吧,always think your home …even u living in Taiwan but how ever you still want going back "南非"……

Hey! I've been looking into relocating to Taiwan and just have a few questions...if you don't mind. Do you still teach English? What big chain schools have you worked at, if any? Pros and cons to big chain schools? I'm not quite sure how old you are, but is it true that it gets harder to find a job in ESL teaching once you hit 30 or 35? Thanks for any advice or info you can give.

Age isn’t a big issue. The international school I currently work at has a relatively diversified group of teachers in regards to age. Anything from mid 20s to mid 60s.

@@iamnathank what are the typical requirements of teaching in an international school? Education degree, Masters, licensed teacher..or just the basics with experience? I hear that International Schools are the way to go, but competitive to get into.
@iamnathank4 жыл бұрын
@@ryanr8121 It will vary from place to place, but generally, a degree, preferably education related with some teaching experience will be enough. However, if you have a lot of teaching experience & an APRC or JFRV, that might also do the trick as well.

Ryan unless you live in South Africa and have no choice but to come to Taiwan, (because not able to make money at home and are being hunted because of the color of your skin, ie you are white) Its no walk in the park being a "foreigner" here..You will always be looked on as an outsider and treated as a second class citizen.....(but that's alot better than being genocided in South Africa) Also bear in mind that China is ready to invade Taiwan using force...this will happen...not sure what living under a Chinese dictatorship in Taiwan will be like, guess we will find out soon...regardless, put your faith and total trust in God(Jesus) forget about trusting or having any faith in Taiwanese, Chinese, or ANC or foreigners in Taiwan ....mans help is useless in a time of trouble...only God and His angelic host will be able to keep us safe, He will provide a way out..if we ask Him....(God is a seriously supernatural, miraculous God).....(and take care of your family and friends)
@ryanr81214 жыл бұрын
@@roberttoodie275 I've seen similar complaints from people from different backgrounds. It's crazy that these people from Canada, US or other places end up staying for several years despite the bad experiences. Maybe it just takes time to find the right place to work for. I've been to Taiwan, but not for work, so I'm not familiar with the work culture. I think it's nice and convenient. Food is really good. Yes..there is pollution and there are parts that aren't so nice looking, but every country has that. At least it's safe and the streets are much cleaner unlike places like New York City, Los Angeles or many areas of Miami.
