I used to work with these machines back in the early 90’s. I worked for a division of Edison Brothers called Exhilirama. We had the sit down and stand up units. I literally spent hours and hours using them and messing around with the Dual Amigas these ran on! It was such a cool time! Very crude in todays world, but it was the beginning

I helped out on one of those adverts. It was filmed in the old PEX complex near the Holiday Inn.

It's such a shame a lot of these games may be lost forever. I'll probably never have the chance to use one of these machines ever in my life.
@aniken68779 ай бұрын
There are museums you go to they actually keep these machines and you can use them.

@@aniken6877 By utter chance when I went to University I ended up going to Leicester. I decided to visit the computer museum there and found out that is where the guy Simon Marston, from the Kotaku article about the convention in Blackpool where they had some machines, keeps his machines. So in the end I did get the chance to play Dactyl Nightmare and Exorex (Heavy Metal), which I never thought I would get. Pretty amazing and by total chance I ended up there, as I forgot (I was probably aware at some point) that that was the museum in the UK that had them, and that that was the city from which they originated as well. At the time the locations meant nothing to me so I didn't remember, but now I live here, so when I found out again it was quite fascinating. Having said that I don't know of any other museums that have them. Maybe there are some in the US?

If any Virtuality game needs a remake, it's Exorex, game looked cool af, and fit the aesthetic of the system perfectly.

like if VR kept evolving we probably would have SAO today.

Did you do the video for Exorex off the machines yourself, Simon? This is the best I've seen of the game so far!
@ukSMP749 жыл бұрын
Tarique Naseem This was take from a Virtuality promotional video I have. A soon as I get Exorex working again, I`ll take a video of it anyway! Great game! Thanks for coding it! :D

Legend Quest was awesome! Totally loved it! It's the inspiration for my pet project. If anyone has got memories of favourite encounters I'd love to hear about them. It's very early days but I'm working on a VR adventure game in my spare time; kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4a1q2OtetWJgpo
