I love the hotel review idea -- this one was excellent. City hotels would be interesting too.

While the locale is gorgeous, I think that I would be frustrated if I was honeymooning there and everything was "purchasable" in the room. I'm not a fan of when hotels/resorts do that. Thanks for the video though, glad to have you back!

I believe it was a GoPro 5.

About how deep is the water around overwater villas? Can you stand around them?

I’m sorry, but I don’t remember. There is a ladder that goes into the water from the deck. I typically would snorkel up to the ladder and climb out without putting my feet down. I think the water depth was too deep to stand to be honest, but there is some variance for tide and possibly location of the bungalow. I would estimate around 6-10’/2-3m.

For those that cannot swim, would one appreciate seeing the ocean life with a life vest and if you can offer any tips

I was at the Waldorf there like a month ago. I was not really happy with it. Pretentious staff, inflated prices (as expected tbh) and poor food quality. Coming from Desroche Island at the Seychelles before, i was overall disappointed from the Maledives. But my day on the actual main island of Male was the most eye-opening. People have poor living conditions, live in loud noise all day and without proper facilities. It is disturbing that the government is housing the most luxurious hotel brands in the world, but can't provide living standard for the people. Overall a highly overrated destination with poor value IMO. I think people should be made aware of the downsides of these type of destinations. You can have beach or island experiences in a better and cheaper way than this.
