It sounds like there are some micro-tonal/quarter-tone scales going on here with the melodies. Are they using custom fretted instruments here or just bending the strings? Either way, with so much generic crap out there- I can safely say I have NEVER heard any band sound remotely close to this.

It sounds metal as fuck, those instruments add an intensely atmospheric aspect to the music, gives me chills in a way guitar struggles to by comparison. The way it is isolated in the mix like an ever present drone makes me feel incredibly small, as if I am in the middle of some great catastrophe.
