I think its really more a metaphor about how a lot of people would seek to take advantage of others because they don't see them as individuals; And only through living through the same shared experiences as everyone else, the wolf realizes that everyone is not, in fact, a sheep, but rather individuals that have to operate and live within the same rules of society that he has found himself conforming to.

Yep. People see "Sheep" as a derogatory term, but there's merits to not being actively antisocial, and a reason people play the game and conform. Kinda unsettling to me that the comments are so singularity sympathetic to the state of the predators when, by all accounts, they seem to be pretty unhinged when predating in the civil world presented by the video. I mean, the wolf's food-oriented antics are cartoonishly delightful, but I can't help but start getting an uncomfortably growing sense of Beastars-level *concern* the moment the sheep start using lawn mowers. Which I feel is kinda the intention, as the presentation of humanlike amenities steadily ramps up from there.
@EvonixTheGreatest2 ай бұрын
Yeah, the idea of them being "just sheep" isn't just something the "sheep" inflict on each other or something the wolf is only effected by later on, if anything he was more blind to the sheep at the start than at the end. I like this interpritation.
@AzulBird2 ай бұрын
Yeah, I definitely see this interpretation more than plain peer pressure. The fact that the wolf is in disguise with the intent to harm the sheep becomes *MUCH* less sympathetic than just a predator needing to hunt once they *all* begin being anthropomorphized. The most sympathetic things are: - When the poor wolf’s joy is stifled by *accidentally* being a bother to someone else. It’s no reason to take it out on someone, but an understandable and relatable frustration. - Ending up having to work what seems to be an unfulfilling job is… unfortunate, but something many have to go through due to circumstances. It just seems more like struggling to fit in society while also seeing others as below oneself, but ultimately learning that others are in the same position-different individuals just trying to live their own lives and facing similar yet different challenges-the hawk at the end *can’t fly* while trying to fit in as a sheep. The wolf learning both humility and empathy through hardship: realizing that it truly does seem like just a sheep on the surface, *just like everyone else in its eyes,* leading to the realization that no one else was ever was “just a sheep” to take advantage of.
@kennydarmawan132 ай бұрын
The ending makes sense to everything now. The reason why the wolf was so easily trampled and bossed around by the sheep was because they're not all sheep. Some are different animals, with some WAY bigger than the wolf itself. The moment it got ganged on, that was the wolf realizing it's surrounded by bigger, stronger animals than itself. Also the fact it's not hunting a sheep at all. I imagine, over time, the wolf starts mixing up different disguised animals together until everything it sees is a sheep, including itself. The wolf may be a ravenous sheep-eater, but losing itself is arguably crushing for such a villain. This also recontextualizes the sheep who stared at the mirror. It tried to ensure itself that it's always been a sheep.

Потому что все кто осуждают безобидные чудачества или немного странные вкусы уверенны что это очень оправданно и необходимо. It's funny here that history has shown the two-sidedness of the idea. Losing yourself? Yes, it's tragic. Also, modern civilization does not work without it, and you better not talk about finding alternatives, it's indecent. Hypothetically, each individual uniqueness is priceless, in practice there may be evil eaters of the weak or other monsters among them, and you may or may not be one of them. Are you still sad under the ice rink of conformity? Is the skin still itching under, as the Japanese seem to call it, a public face, which should not be removed in front of outsiders, such as clothes? Well, you can start by checking if you are a pressure agent and if you are a real beater, if you really will have something for harmless eccentricity. Because everyone who condemns harmless eccentricities or slightly strange tastes is sure that this is very justified and necessary.

I also really think it's about neurodivergency, especially since in the end where everyone is revealed to be pretending to be a sheep, it highlights that WAY more people are not the neurotypical standard that we have built our society around. After the big reveal, I think that the overall message is that everyone is more-or-less faking it, pretending to be something they're not for the sake of society at their own expense. Oh my god this is such a good display of how societal expectations can destroy someones personal identity. It can make the world safer but at what cost
@ender6912 ай бұрын
i think it's worth noting how no one seems to be benefiting from this con. like everyone is individually trying to fool everyone else into thinking they're a sheep but like there are no sheep around. it's just all a farce that everyone is too self conscious to see through. idk tho
@nomadicwolf61322 ай бұрын
This is painfully relatable. Essentially how I felt the entire time I was in school. Trying to conform & struggling. An excellent little film. Wow.
@MagusSerlingАй бұрын
There's this underlying implication that this has been going on for so long that sheep might have never existed in this world, just the spectre of societal pressure to insist that being one is the only way to function. Nobody understands why they have to, it's just how it's always been. Gorgeous work.

@celticcomedy13162 ай бұрын
This has got me crying. The sound design and art direction are phenomenal and the gut punch ending is really unique and impactful. The horror and danger coming from the sheep’s clothing and not the wolf is really unique and relatable in an age of conformity. Overall really cool and it’s gonna stick with me for a while afterwards.

I love the bit where the wolf just puts 2 fingers together to make his paws look like hooves after the sheep starts looking at him weird
@skylily4272 ай бұрын
While I understand this was written to express the soul-crushing conformity we face in our world ("peer-pressure"), I can't help but see it ALSO as a symbol for neurodivergence. A lot of these clips can be interpreted as masking (changing your behaviors despite it being uncomfortable in order to look or be "normal") to hide what is natural for us, but not for others. Regardless, this was very well made: a new favorite!
@VesperTenebris2 ай бұрын
YES, like how everyone is technically masking themselves in public as "sheep" to fit in when in reality they're just as if not more goofy than everyone else, we all expect people to judge us when we do things we're not supposed to in public(and we do, because we're taught to act certain ways so seeing someone doing something "outside of the norm" is odd to everyone), so the mask(being a 'sheep') is just representing how all of us need to "fit" into society
@user-ky2hg7fg4j2 ай бұрын
..Hate to break it to you, but masking is something quite literally everyone does, it is not exclusive to mentally ill people in the slightest. EVERYBODY deals with this. You are talking about the exact same thing twice here. Not to mention the fact that everyone is "neurodivergent", there is no such thing as "neurotypical".
@oliverr69252 ай бұрын
@@user-ky2hg7fg4j This is a poor take that diminishes the effects of mental illness and provides a convenient barrier to care and accessibility. "Oh, everyone's brain works differently!" Quickly turns into "Everyone else is coping with life just fine, suck it up buttercup." The DSM exists for a reason, and that reason is that some people are explicitly different from others in identifiable ways. There are common behaviors within these disordered groups that are exceedingly rare in the general population, hence why they are neurodivergent and others are neurotypical.
@FurryWrecker9112 ай бұрын
I feel like this is a wonderful representation on how Sonder works. Everyone feels as if they're the one that's different, the one that's gonna strike it big and become the top dog, but eventually you fake-it-til-you-make-it into the same system as everyone else that you saw being less than you, and you slowly realize that everyone - EVERYONE - is living lives as complicated as you are. We all wind up in the same place, and it's not necessarily a bad thing, but it is a shock to the system when you realize you're not the only one trying to become something.

I love the reveal that the sheep aren't sheep this whole time, that's why the wolf sometimes backs down because it can't possibly handle being ganged up by bigger animals who are also in sheep clothing. It is how he sees the world, like *he was trying to convince himself he fits in with the expectation just like everybody else.* It isn't until he looks in the glass that he realizes, in an attempt to fit in just like everyone else/acting all the time, he has lost his own identity, he becomes that character, and that's when the illusion breaks down, that is when we see everyone for who they are, other animals in sheep costume, *not a single actual sheep.* I mean even at the start before it was revealed, I did think how strange it was that the wolf could be talked down for growling by a bunch of sheep, but it wasn't so weird that I couldn't get it out of my mind, so I brush it off as the video continue. After the reveal it all made sense, the storytelling and visual literacy are delectable, this totally deserves an award for the writing part
