WORKS ST. MARY'S SQUARE. BIRMINGHAM.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, wall thicknesses at 20 and 18, some dents right barrel, scroll-back treble-grip action
with oak leaf engraved shoulders, three-point arcaded fences with fine acanthus scrollwork, toplever engraved and gold-inlaid with a crown, automatic side-safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, the housing finely engraved with a lone pheasant, the action profusely engraved with fine acanthus scrollwork and with oak leaf and acorn bordering, interspersed with finely engraved vignettes of hound flushing a covey of partridge and a spaniel flushing a brace of duck, the underside with a lone woodcock, the triggerguard with two setters on point, retaining traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 13 1/2in. well-figured stock with horn spearpoint drop points and including 3/4in. recoil pad, the slender fore-end with Deeley and Edge patent release catch engraved with oak leaves, scrollwork and a solitary mallard, ornate horn finial, weight 4lb. 15oz., in its brass-cornered oak lined leather case with green velveteen lining and gold-tooled red leather trade label, the lid outer gold embossed 'M. HAGGAS. WOODVILLE. KEIGHLEY.'
