W. W. Jacobs: The Monkey’s Paw - Listen and Read

Part I opens on a dark and stormy night as the three members of the White family relax inside their cozy house. Herbert White and his father are playing a game of chess while Mrs. White knits near the fire. After his son wins, Mr. White complains about the terrible weather and nearly deserted road they live near.
A family friend, Sergeant-Major Morris, arrives for a visit. Over whisky, he tells stories of his exploits abroad. Mr. White expresses interest in going to India, but the sergeant-major says he would be better off staying at home. At Mr. and Mrs. Whites’ urging, Sergeant-Major Morris takes a small, mummified paw out of his pocket...

someone please tell me the story in a quick summary for school I don’t get it the slightest-

So basically this sargent man comes to the people's house and introduces them to a monkey's hand. Although he warns them, they decide to use it anyways. The father wished for £200 but nothing happened yet. The next day the son went off wor work, but a man from the factory came to say that their son got caught in the machinery and was killed. To say sorry, the company lended the man £200. Tats when they realised that the monkeys hand was bad. Soon, the mother came up with the idea to wish for their son back, the father didn't want to, but he did it anyway. A few minutes later there were a few knocks on the door. The mother went straight away to open it but the father didn't want her to as something bad could happen. Just as the mother was about to open the door, the father used his last wish to reverse the previous one. Thats it lol. Sorry its not exactly short

@MEDARDO AGUIRIANO PENA That's not what happened. She wished for the son to be alive again and there was a knock at the door, so he wished his son to be dead again. (so he basically killed his son twice in the story, or rather the paw did).
