I recently learned the phrase, "太陽の匂いがする" which basically means the "smell of the sun" and is used to describe the smell of freshly sun dried laundry and everyone's clothes will their own unique smell(Lots of science as to why that is). Sensei is quite literally saying that Hina smells like home. He might as well have said, "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" 🤣

Sensei was constantly pulled away to help with the fireworks preparation in Wakamo's 2nd Relationship story episode. That ended with bringing Wakamo back home after scolding and worrying about her. However, leaving Wakamo out in the rain happened in the 3rd episode, where Sensei hadn't met with Wakamo that day, but messaged her on MomoTalk with "Sorry, I'm really busy right now. Can you wait for me?" This led to Wakamo waiting on the beach in the rainstorm, with Sensei unaware she was doing that. Sensei only found her later after they got worried and went to search for her, and blamed themselves for not being clear about where Wakamo should wait for them. My point is, Sensei still really cares about Wakamo, but knows that Wakamo needs a bit of tough love, and is willing to admit their mistakes after leaving her in the rain without realizing it. Sensei truly didn't want to flake on her, but the job led to them doing just that... For Hina though, she's already hard-working and more tough on herself than everyone else. That's why Sensei is more willing to spoil and play around her, because that's what she needs. She needs that love and affection, because sooner or later, she will crack under the pressure. ...And we've seen that too
