so proud to be chinese when hearing this, this is very best in deed even at today's stage, any stages, at any countries, so blessed to have this wonderful artist at that time, you can micro exam her each words and notes, yet, no dust no error can be traced, how much hard work and devotion! can only imagine what she went through that dark 10 year plus period, her songs live, of course forever... please post more, wish, appreciated so much what you did for all.

She did graduate and got master degree at the States, in 1956, China did La Travita for the very first time and at their time when no one could imagine they could pull that off, she was a shock to the international critics, was considered as the Violetta of the East...

中国实验歌剧院第一次上演歌剧《茶花女》，张权作为当时国内最具实力的抒情女高音歌唱家，无疑是剧中女主角薇奥列塔的第一人选。然而，歌剧院领导却安排了一位来自延安、唱民歌的院领导夫人主演薇奥列塔（后由于那位演薇奥列塔的演员实在力不从心，才把张权提上来）。

it is really a miracle to have chinese own La travita at that time, really set the standard by her. All chinese should be proud and be proud of her. Her talent and her total package of hard working craftsmanship is undeniable..the wife of the minister, was from Ya An, did try but failed, and had to give the role to Zhang.
