Hi good video !! Keep them coming. Nice work getting that cluster out , they tend to get really stuck . It also doesnt help that the new type cluster hooks are very bendy , they used to be spring steel type. Just last month I broke a cluster casing. Had to pay for it.

Nice work. Both my cars have the rubber blocks missing and as a result the clusters dont sit all the way in and come out quite easily. It would be good to fix this though one of these days. Do you have a preferred glue to keep them attached ?
@FriendlyMBTech2 жыл бұрын
All three of mine came off, I just threw some Gorilla Super Glue on them and they stuck just fine.

Can you do a video how to reset your clock?
@FriendlyMBTech2 ай бұрын
@ianengland9549 it's very easy. Push the knob by the clock and turn while the button is pushed.

@FriendlyMBTech thank you but also we have electrical problem it's not the battery it's not the alternator it drives great but if we don't drive it sooner often the battery goes dead it's a new battery so can you probably explain what problem it might have with electrical?

What size are the two bulbs that illuminate the cluster

I don't know off the top of my head but the bulb part number is N 072601 012240.

Thank you for the video. Did you buy counter hooks on eBay? Or these are official Mercedes B tools?
@FriendlyMBTech2 жыл бұрын
Got those specific hooks on Amazon.

Mine won’t turn on even after changing the bulb, do you think it will the red fuse behind cluster
@FriendlyMBTech Жыл бұрын
That is very possible. I'd check to see if there was voltage at the fuse and to the bulbs. Do the headlights turn on?
@monsieur420 Жыл бұрын
@@FriendlyMBTech yea they do turn on even the warning lights just not the two t10 bulbs

@@monsieur420 I would definitely want to do some electrical checks on the back of the instrument cluster.

Hello my friend! I noticed the lights on the cluster were out and i thought it was just the bulbs but it's actually all the backlights to everything. i found out there is a fuse on the back of the cluster that is for the backlighting. would you happened to know the part number to that or maybe if the dealership you work for can get it for me? I really appreciate it =)

My W124 doesn't have back lit gauges. What year and model is your car? I'll see what information I can find about it.
@mikeymancebo7783 Жыл бұрын
@@FriendlyMBTech i think i have the same W124 as you, it's a 92' 400E. so all the backlit stuff for the buttons in car stopped working as well as the bulbs for the cluster. I'm riding in the dark at night lol I looked up a video with someone who had the same exact issue. they replaced a small red fuse in the back of the cluster that apparently controls the backlights and bulbs. I asked him where to get it and he said best bet is a dealership. I tried looking it up but can't find it. I was hoping since you have the same car and work at the dealership you would know how to get one of those, maybe two =D

We all want to see the struggle of you pulling it out we do not want to see ohh it's as easy as that it's done see the video was supposed to be about how akward it is to remove it let's us know it's not easy no word of disconnected clip of spedo cable located at break pedal so no go video
@FriendlyMBTech2 жыл бұрын
I didn't remove the cluster completely so I didn't have to remove the speedo cable or disconnect the clip. Also, I used the proper tools to remove it so it wasn't really that hard. What you saw in the video was exactly how hard it was. Once you find the correct place to hook the tools, it comes right out. After it was out, I kept track of the rubber tabs, super glued them back on, and applied sunroof grease to them to aid in removal in the future.
@brianmilligan17872 жыл бұрын
@@FriendlyMBTech A lot of people do things like that grease remove clips so it will just slide out next time that says it all now the car has creeks it never had and grease that will drip God knows where in a very hot day that's what's wrong done what yea just fell out
@FriendlyMBTech2 жыл бұрын
@@brianmilligan1787 I've never caused a noise by adding grease. Also, sunroof grease has a high drip point so I'm not worried about it getting anywhere it shouldn't. Also, it has a very low odor unlike red bearing grease, so even hot, it won't smell.
