Great Job! That was one of the very first things I fixed when I got my W126 MY89 in Nov 2020 - my blower was completely frozen and had damaged my electronic regulator module - got lucky on eBay and got a module for 25 bucks. Ned Batey, "squeeeeel!" Glad that fixed it. Nothing I hate worse than squeaks and squeals in my car. I think that squirel cage is just pressed on. If it starts up again you should be able to get it off and lube it at the shaft. Take care, my friend!

Thanks for the video. I did this on my w220, put some pb blaster down the center of the blower from underneath. Squeak fixed!

Ha!!!! I had this on my last w126. I was sitting outside of the care with the heat on while talking to a friend. All of a sudden that squeak!!! I live in NYC so me and boy thought it was the king of all rats in my car. We both looked at the car then at the same time looked at each other with our eyes wide open. Thought I was going to have to fight master Splinter that day but it turned out to be this! Will never forget that day! hahaha

Try corrosion-X for lubrication. Prevents rust and lubricates amazingly, also last a while.

I have a lubricant suggestion... Light Machine oil (Supco Super Spout, Or Singer Sewing Machine Oil)
