In the begining of ML production the 4-ETS becomes only abs when you touch the brakes and I told the instructors this was the worst thing they could have done,That and not using the neutral position in the transfer case so it could be flat towed. I explained drivers want the control on the trail that dragging the brakes can afford. So later trucks had the traction control software improved to allow throttle and brake to be modulated together up to a higher vehichle speed . I worked on and have driven the ML since the introduction.

I’ve heard that the brake light switch can be modified to allow for use of the gas and pedals together. Would you happen to know the details of what’s needed? Thanks.

I came for the ML off-road (I have a 2002 ML320), but I had to comment on your winch work. Please, when using the winch, don't stand beside the cable. If that had snapped or come off the anchor point it would have cut you in half. I know, it doesn't happen often, but it only takes once to ruin your day.

The Mercedes did you try reading the manual, pretty stupid that is the easiest trail for my ML 500 to go through, you’re supposed to turn off the EPS and try using the low range for god sake, not to mention the manual says keep a steady throttle at a certain RPM consistently for the for ETS to kick him, that is a nothing trail I cannot believe he’s having such a difficult time because he’s not reading his manual
@offgridnomads3772 жыл бұрын
We had difficulty reading manual while driving the trail...we will try audio books next time... In German.

The ml it's nearly capable as Toyota is,but are 2 important thingy. One-cut the esp off otherwise it's pointless and second, keep the throttle on specially when your wheels are spinning and only then you would see the real potential of the merc.

None. It's just tubing fabricated to mount straight to the car's existing steel bumper/frame.
