W176 A Class Mercedes Fuel Filter Replacement

Here’s a video of me replacing a fuel filter in my a-class Mercedes. There’s some things that weren’t clear from other videos online, so hopefully this video will be an additional support to anyone wanting to attempt this themselves.

Brilliant job and fantastic editing... Getting good camera angles in a tight space like the engine bay is a nightmare - I KNOW this will have taken you at least 3 times as long trying to get all of those clips right. Brilliant explanations, genuinely excellent video 👍🏼

Great video ..I cant seem to see the plastic clip very well .I can imagine it pinging off in to know whereland! Gonna leave it until i can get a proper view of it .

It was kinda hard to show in the video! An alternative is to unhook the bleed tube from the body of the car so you can remove the filter with the bleeding tube still attached. That way you will avoid it pinging off and losing it in the engine bay.

Bigger hose is where the fuel flows into the filter.

Can you explain the fuel bleeding part please and how do you know when to stop bleeding the fuel into the bottle?

Hi Mohammed, you turn the key in the ignition all the way to the right without turning the car on. This will activate the fuel pump. I advise doing this maybe 10 times to bleed the system of any air from changing to a new fuel filter. Hope that helps!

Hi! Sorry for the late reply - I didn't see your comment until now. The tool I used to remove the clamps is called a "mechanic's pick", and the other I used for closing the clamps is called a "hose clip pliers".

Also is it definitely just a normal 10 mm socket or is it a spline one ?

The socket I used is just a regular 10 mm socket, but you can also use a spline one. The spline sockets are probably more versatile.
