Great video, I think I'll do my E350 Wagon soon now that I'm over 100k. One suggestion is to turn the nut and not the bolt at the subframe. If it's ever had an alignment, you'll spin that bolt and shear the tab on the subframe.

Can you do a video of taking calipers off and how you painted them? Also where the center jack point is in the front?
@ExoticCarDIY
@ExoticCarDIY Ай бұрын
I have some limited footage of the calipers, but not really enough for a video. Essentially just several hours of sanding with 320 grit, then 600. I did three coats of base, then installed the decals I made, and then three coats of clear. As for the jacking point, there is a 2x3 rectangle kind of dead center under the front of the car that people jack from. I've never jacked here, if the jack slips it will hit some pretty critical engine parts. Plus my cars are so low and it's so far back from the bumper that no normal floor jack can reach it. So I pretty much always just jack on the four pads underneath the rockers

Just did the trick and went out for a short drive and today my morning commute, it shifts so much smoother, and i didnt even get a engine code for the disconnection. 14 E63S here with 45k miles, just curious have you ever experienced mixed in oil in coolant, just found out yesterday when i topped off some coolant in the middle of summer which never happened last 6 years ownership, and theres little bit oil on the reservoir cap , traced the system couldn't find leaks or foggy residue around hoses, intercooler etc. Tasted my oil from dipstick it wasnt sweet either. just trying to see whats your thought on that issue if you dont mind giving some input, really appreciated it.

hello, do you know why 355s have a mesh grill at the back and others have a painted element
@ExoticCarDIY
@ExoticCarDIY 8 ай бұрын
All 355 came with painted rear bumpers to my knowledge. When the dealers converted regular 355s to the challenge race cars, they installed the black mesh grills. They look great and also provide much needed cooling so it's a very popular upgrade and many people buy them and install them on regular cars

I see you mentioned toe on the alignment? I have a gt63 ! How do i explain to an alignment shop to fix the toe so it wont wear my tires? Also great video i replaced thess control arms 10x on my cls63 !
@ExoticCarDIY
@ExoticCarDIY 8 ай бұрын
When you go into an alignment shop you can ask for them to set just the toe to zero. It's literally a tenth of the work of a full alignment. Many shops will offer a considerable discount to just do toe instead of a full alignment. However I'm sure there are still quite a few places that will still insist on paying for the whole thing

The kmac bushing is just an alternate option to fix the stock control arm. Unless you're looking to significantly adjust the alignment, you do not need the kmac bushing. Both the stock and the Amazon mevotech control arms fit either side there is no left and right.
