Imagine making a game so good that even the 360p videos of it are still watchable 14 years later. Heck i can't even remember when i started to play this mod, i believe i was in high school in early 2000s... Q1 is still the best game of all time for me, cause it's when the real revolution happened, but Q3 multiplayer and Defrag solo are two things that just can't be replaced

@@w3sp I like how you pointed out "at that time". So did they ban strafe bots later? I guess "technically" this wasn't a sanctioned competition and using computer aided programs on public servers and record boards isn't "technically illegal" so it's fine right? That's hardly my point. My point is that in the spirit of competition you're a cheater and you aren't displaying your own skills in this video as many have been lead to believe. If you'd like me to do a debunking video showing all the tricks you use I certainly can. This video alone has plenty enough evidence in it.
@w3sp5 жыл бұрын
@@mrworm1 If alcohol became forbidden tomorrow would you put everyone in jail who consumed it today? There's um10 and maybe (I honestly don't remember) yawspeed used in the demos that were recorded online iirc. Again: both not forbidden...at the time. PS: I like the fact that ppl are still obsessed over my old df runs and stuff even though I quit that game over a decade (!) ago. Be my guest and make a video sharing any proof of any of my demos being botted, replayed or whatever else I've heard over the years. You'd certainly be the first person then to actually provide evidence. For the past 10 years and longer it's always only been proofless accusations and I'm still waiting for the day of change. Wish you all the best nonetheless.

I'm barely a FPS player, let alone a Quake 3 player, but there is something generally remarkable about the production quality of DeFrag movies, from the game engine, to the level design (both aesthetically and with quality of build), to the players ability to not only make it look so easy but also in some cases exploit areas of a map and finally to the quality of the actual movie production. Again, it's amazing.

Just noticed how similar strafing in Quake 3 is to strafing in CoD 4. You can't bunny hop so the jump maps aren't speedrun but rather gap based but in CoD 4 you also strafe with honey spots of 125, 250 or 333 fps, you also abuse wallspeed, or use the recoil of the rpg to get further and it also makes the game more interesting.
