I just watched the 50 year special (this intro did appear briefly) and it made me think it’d be cool to see full episodes preserved like what the CBC is trying with their digital archives.

CTV used to have some pretty cool news themes, including the one used here, the old (1970s-1980s) CTV National News with Lloyd Robertson and Harvey Kirck theme and, of course, Fools Overture. I believe that Supertramp (a British group) recorded the latter tune.

'W5' refers to Who, What, Where, When and Why, hence the name.
