It’s not right at all. The victims shouldn’t have to go to court again to follow up for their owed restitution. The system is flawed, and it needs major overhaul immediately.

I'm confused. If they were convicted, why did they not go to jail, or at least be put under house arrest? And upon the conviction, why were their bank accounts not immediately frozen? Granted, they could hide their ill-gotten gains, but surely they have some assets that can be stripped from them, right? So, the system has basically rewarded the fraudsters by not coming after them.

This is one of many ways our government institutions failed to keep up with the modern era. You'd be shocked at how far in the past our laissez-faire government is stuck.

we should have automatic eviction when Tennant doesn't pay rent.

We do. It goes to review by a municipal committee. Rental administration across Canada is never adequate for the needs in their cities. It's been like this long enough that we can probably make some safe assumptions.
