At 8:23 you show Menu 575 APRS Voice but describe Menu 582 Voice Alert. 575 APRS Voice turns on HT verbal announcement of APRS received call signs (only in certain unclear, undocumented in the User Manual conditions). 582 APRS Voice Alert is more complicated and relates to communicating only with stations within simplex range. Then at 9:02 you turn Voice Alert on and this is not a good idea for novices that don't understanding all its implications -- You are essentially transmitting "CQ, I am ready to hear your voice on this APRS frequency and QSY to a nearby simplex frequency" with every packet. I think both functions are better left off until fully understood.

Ive Got the TH-D74. I have several pre-programed groups. When I select the lower of the two, and push enter I get a list of the groups frequencies. How do I get past this to follow your APRS instructions?

So what I'm interested in if it will it do APRS and DPRS at the same time... meaning can one set it up for APRS on Band B and talk on DSTAR on Band A; whiling talking on Band A will it send and update my location as I talk through the DSTAR system on Band A as well or is that limited to only one side of the radio? This is the selling point for me... Ty-AF6TS

Good videos Don! I just got this radio on June 13th. I uploaded the latest firmware and I believe there's a bug in the GPS. Even though it gets a GPS fix, the icon won't stop flashing until you turn the radio off and back on. Also, are you going to make a detailed video explaining the settings in D-Star and how to set it up? I have no idea how to set it up and the manual certainly doesn't explain what the settings mean.

Thanks for the nice demonstration. Perhaps you should have mentioned to set an SSID like -7 with the callsign at 1:54. The waypoint settings mentioned in 7:15 are only important if you use the output of received beacons to an external device like a GPS-receiver or PC for visualisation. 73 de Michael, DB7MM

when bluetooth linked to my phone and radio in KISS mode, i cant get the packets to transfer to the phone that is running aprsdroid. nothing ever shows on the phone. a how to video on setting such system up would be helpful

I had the same problem, but switched the GPS mode from KENWOOD to NMEA and next beacon showed right up on the map.
