"Somārudrā" is an adaptation of the 74th hymn of 6th Mandala from Rig Veda.
The Rig Veda is a collection of sacred hymns from ancient India composed in Vedic Sanskrit. It is one of the four great canonical texts of Hinduism known as the Vedas. It is one of the oldest existing texts in the Indo-European language. According to Indologists, philologists and linguists, it was written between 1500 and 900 BC.
The Vedic people who spoke this language lived 3,500 years ago (1500 BC).
This song is based on two 7/4 frame drum loop (with two different subdivisions), with throatsinging and sitar. It's also the third part of a polyrhythmic throatsinging triptych.
I humbly try to pronounce this language to the best I can, with months of studying phonology and phonetic of Vedic Sanskrit. It's far from perfect, but here's my attempt with all respect and awe to the Vedic culture.
Mixing and Mastering: Paul Fontimpe
Video: Marlène Ila Popovic

Translation:
Soma and Rudra, bring our desires to the spiritual being, so that they may rejoice. Distributing seven
jewels in each house, be happiness for us bipeds, happiness for the quadrupeds.
O Soma and Rudra, tear away in every direction the terror that has entered our house.
Drive suffering away. May good fortune and good name be ours.
O Soma and Rudra, place all these effective remedies for us in our bodies. Drive away
this calamity installed in our bodies,
You two, Soma and Rudra, with sharp weapons, with your sharp arrows, you who are
show your compassion for us. Free us from Varuna's chain.
Protect our cows with your good thoughts.

some things are common and universal in the human experience--throat singing for one shared in one or the other variety in many cultures globally (even if i dont know (r.n.) any evidences or records that speak about it in the circle of indian culture..well but tibet is close by enough🤭)

Soma is often depicted as a deity associated with the moon, representing the elixir of immortality or the drink of the gods. In the Vedic texts, Soma is described as a ritual drink that is prepared from a specific plant and consumed during important religious ceremonies. This drink is believed to bestow immortality, strength, and divine insight. Rudra is a fierce deity in the Vedic tradition, often associated with storms, wind, and hunting. He is considered a precursor to the later Hindu god Shiva. In the Rigveda, Rudra is depicted as a fearsome, wrathful god who is also a healer and protector. Together, Soma and Rudra represent a balance of opposites: Soma embodies life and bliss, while Rudra embodies destruction and renewal. This balance is central to Hindu cosmology and philosophy, emphasizing the cyclical nature of the universe and the interplay of creation and destruction.

Hey Waagal. Greatly appreciate your work, I fell in love with it just the first 30 secs. I read among comments that you were working on, here's some of my recommendations, from deities that fit this particular masculine style. Rudra Shiva Stotram Mantra Mrityunjeya Mantra: Shiva Hanuman Chalisa: Hanuman the monkey God Bho Shambo Shiva Shambo (Very deep vocal) Ravan goes to War: Hanuman Album (Shiva) Nirvana Shatakam: Shiva general consiousness I don't wanna spam too much but these are the ones on the top of my mind. I am very excited to hear this type of rendition on these mantras. It almost feels like this was the way it was supposed to be sung. Let me know if you'd like more inputs over email or any other medium from a staunch spiritual Hindu.
