Waal River Crossing

79 years ago today, the men of the 307th Engineers and 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment crossed the river Waal in 26 canvas boats. Many lacking oars, the Paratroopers used their weapons and any means necessary to cross the river and secure the objective on the far side.
