Wabash Cannonball | TrainzMV

After long last, I've finally kitbashed a Wabash P1! Decided to celebrate with a little video.
The kitbash is comprised of the K&L Polar Express model alpha'd to total bareness. I added meshes as I went along and eventually came up with this. It's amazing what you can do with the right skill.

My grandpa worked out of the Wabash’s yard in St. Louis as a switch man. He worked a yard job that got stopped by the cannon ball every day

I live in small town in Illinois that was the midway stop on a Wabash short line that ran from Chicago to Champaign, and had a small yard, 2 coal hops, a water tower, roundhouse, and a depot and a track side hotel. And my grandpa had a brother who was in the service and lived in Chicago and would take the Wabash Bluebird up there to visit him and always told about how they would farm by the track and people would wave at them from the trains

@@alejandrocordero2492 in the early 40s the wabash was desperate for more passenger power so they rebuilt a few heavy 2-8-2s into light 4-6-4s re-using mostly just the boilers

It’s a shame that none of the Wabash p-1 Hudsons survived into preservation I think someone should do a new build of a Wabash p-1 Hudson like the next member number 707 because we don’t have this much surviving Wabash steam locomotives will at least we have to surviving Wabash steam locomotives number’s 573 & 534
