WAC Leaders Without Borders - Representation Matters

Louisville's Dr. Monica Unseld and Nigeria's Hon. Chinwe Lilian Nwachukwu discuss the challenges they face as minority leaders and their answer to the question, "Why does representation matter?" Their conversation addresses the many similarities and differences in what their leadership means in their respective communities.
Dr. Monica Unseld is the Executive Director of Until Justice Data Partners. She holds a doctorate in biology from the University of Louisville and a Master’s in Public Health from Benedictine University. In her work she blends her knowledge and passion for research and data to help uplift community researchers, increase just partnerships with academia, and the community, and to help community partners challenge existing narratives about them by helping them collect and create messaging around the data.
Hon. Chinwe Lilian Nwachukwu is represents Nigeria's Ohaozara East Constituency. In addition, she is the Chairman of the House Committee on Water Resources and a member of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly.
