So you mention this could be used in a cafe like yours, will that one live in your cafe?

@@DaneButler yep. I think the filter offering might be similar to our batch brew in that we'll have a roast each week that will cycle though. That will make it easier to manage the freshness 🙌

@Rydecoffeecoach11 сағат бұрын
Yes and no. It's definitely commercially viable, but you'll throttle the growth of your business by having a single group machine. So much better to buy the double group. More upfront cost but savings in the long run. 👌

I have ancestors who were huge coffee farmers during the 1800s in Costa Rica and did exceptionally well. In fact, my great-grandfather x3 and 2 of his brothers came to the US (California) to try and grow coffee here, as the US wanted to tap into the coffee-growing game as well. Unfortunately, California is nothing like Costa Rica as far as consistent temperatures and rainfall, so the crops failed. But, they did wonderful things here in the US including being recognized by the City of Covina in CA as the first homesteaders of the area and one becoming the first Catholic Priest to develop churches and a clergy in North Eastern AZ. Watching this has helped me learn more about the history of Costa Rica and how things were before they came to the US in 1875 and how coffee became to be as important as it is to the country. Thank you for sharing this information!

Hi Ryde, I'm buying a new machine. I'm inclined to buy the rancillo entry level machine. All the videos suggest I have to run water through the machine to fill up the boiler before starting. Is that right? If so, that's a deal breaker for me. I can just imagine waking up, slightly hung over or sore from golf and forgetting to flush the water through. What are the risks in not doing it?
@Rydecoffeecoach3 күн бұрын
I think what you're seeing everywhere online is Temp Surfing. By flushing the water through the machine it helps fill the boiler with new fresh cold water causing the temperature drop and making the temperature for extracting closer to 94C instead of a blistering 120C+ (which is for your steam). It's just how these old machines were built. There's no risk if you don't do it other than you might get an overextracted shot tasting burnt and bitter. If you're happy with a bit of inconsistency in the taste, or if you're happy to tweak it and learn its personality, then the Rancilio is awesome! If you're handy with mechanics, the modding community is huge and there are PID kits you can buy and fit them yourself to help temp stability. If you don't care for that muck around and just want a really great coffee everytime, you'll need to extend your budget a bit and get something like a Profitec Go or Lelit Victoria which have them built in. Watch this vid for some ideas (and I have more at different budget ranges): kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnnFmKCZoLF_ZrMsi=9bH-xRhtpcty8A8h

I don’t think your calculations are on point. I don’t think a 2 person households drinks for 840AUD per month. That’s just crazy. My wife has about 2 6AUD coffees per week. That’s 48AUD per month. If you factor in you buying your own beans plus maintenance products, your return on investment is much much longer.

@Rydecoffeecoach4 күн бұрын
Lame is your subjective opinion and whether you choose to drink it is your prerogative BUT let's not get confused about the huge nutritional value of coffee! It's one of the remaining superfoods/super drinks and on top of the warm morning hug you get from drinking it, you also greatly reduce the risk of a huge amount of diseases. ❤️

Great reviews - but do you know why it is called an E 61?
@Rydecoffeecoach4 күн бұрын
I thought I explained it in the video but maybe it was in another one. It's called E61 cos it was the first electromagnetic pump design launched in 1961 by Faema. The technology has advanced a lot since then but the shape of the group head remains iconic for every e61 machine.

Love your vids Ryde. Focussing on coffee history, geography and even genetics is refreshing when so much YT coffee content is just about gear!! Would love to visit your cafe one day, keep it up mate 👍
@Rydecoffeecoach5 күн бұрын
Thank you! 🙏 I much prefer doing videos like this but YT algorithm doesn't love me for it 😓 I'm sorry to say I have gone the way of gear reviews too while trying to sprinkle in a few of these vids along the way. That's because I want to grow the channel as big as I can and people are more interested in gear than real lives and real stories. But when I have the 2m+ subs that Hoffman has, believe you me I will be doing documentaries on these farms and cultures and unique coffee stories. You can hold me to that! 🤞

If you bothered to step back and see that I'm trying to do the best I can do for everyone and work around YT you might not be so aggressive. thoughts on domestic dual boilers vs small commercial Silvia pro x vs a 1 group commercial like Epoca or a old s24 have had pid Silvia v3,s EM6900, La San Marco Sprint E
@Rydecoffeecoach6 күн бұрын
Well, in that particular comparison, the Silvia pro X definitely over the Rancilio Epoca. The technology on the Silvia is far superior. Silvia is basically a commercial machine anyway as most of the internals are commercial grade. Domestic/appliance dual boiler I would say is a Breville.

The expression in the title _I pimp out the Delonghi Stilosa_ lead met to believe there'd be some pimpin'. Either customization(as one would pimp out a vehicle), or inviting your friends over so they could all have their turn for a fee paid to you(as one would a worker), there is no pimpin' in this video. An alternate title would be something more along the lines of _I introduce the Delonghi Stilosa..._

That’s not a correct back flush . A correct back flush can only be done with a machine with a solenoid valve. It send the cleaner you put into your filter basket through the machines lines. Let the machine sit for a bit with cleaner in machine then pull an empty shot .
@Rydecoffeecoach4 күн бұрын
True! But I'm pretty sure this machine has a version of a 3 way solenoid, it isn't called that but you can still backflush it. Definitely correct about most appliance machines 🙏🙌

Hi, is there any decent machine with a grinder? Or is it not worth it? What about Dualit Espressivo Pro?
@Rydecoffeecoach11 күн бұрын
I strongly believe you should avoid a grinder combo machine as one of them will always fail first (usually the machine) and then what do you do? Have two machines on the bench and use one just as a grinder? It's so much easier to find a cheap grinder that will last you 10+ years than a cheap coffee machine. So picking up a second hand grinder is much less risky than any machine. But even new, grinders like Breville/Sage smart grinder pro or dose control pro are cheap and excellent starting points. Then just buy the Sage Bambino if you don't have a big budget. But if you can stretch to something like a Profitec Go and a Eureka Mignon Silenzio you'll be set up with the best from the start and won't need to worry about replacing until you're ready to upgrade.

No it isn't. It's to distribute grinds but doesn't go deep enough. A tamper already levels the surface as you compress it.
