This year was like 240€ regular + 67€ for Wacken Wednesday so at least 300€.

While I understand the concerns, as someone who visted Wacken every year since 2005 and saw the festival grow and evolve. The ticket prices increased every years for multiple years until 2017, but the quality and optional surrounding program also improved massively. The last big ticket price increase was a few years back, when they moved clean toilets (not mobile toilets) and showers into the core ticket price. All kinds of different services are offered and the general organisation and structure improved every single year after the festival reached its 85000 visitor limit around 2011 I think. Especially entrance/exit planning and general waiting time on heated areas were reduced significantly. I do understand if a lot of these additional and optional offers are not something some people value as much. But Wacken is more than just a festival, its an full fleshed out event.

@@NPC-ej4ql And if i look at the situation across europe and in special my country germany, if you still have the money to spend. Energy prises and cost of daily living are now exploding at the moment here in germany. Maybe there will also no gas in Winter, power shortage and no heating for a lot of people. So, its not only a question of will to spend, its also the question if you have anything left to spend. And 300 € per Ticket is a lot of money in those times.

I'm looking forward to the line up then. With the line up of this year it's quite hard already to fill 4 days for this reason some bands have to play twice if i got everything right.. nevertheless im very hyped and excited for the festival in 3 weeks... \m/

bands on the smaller stages played two to four times the last couple of years (for exposure i guess( and technically there were 4 days already since wednesday was played by smaller bands (and this year Avantasia as Wednesdays headliner). so theys move up the official opening act i guess.

totally unnecessary to go even longer that means another day of holidays gone, growth should not be the only thing being considered. Quality should be a topic and sustainability obviously. 3 days is enough when managed that no band has to appear twice. Besides who is going to pay for that? Yes I know you can go only for one day etc. I would not expect that this is the majority.

Went there 5 times, enjoyed every single one of them, it was like Mecca for us metalheads, but then it used to be half-sized, then Maiden came and it blowned out of proportion, became a metal carnival fair, too many people, lots of business, can't move on the precinct, lots of disposable bands just to built a complete bill....Guess I'm old and grumpy...lol.

Ich schätze du interpretierst es einfach falsch. Es geht hier nicht darum wie "gut" oder "hochkarätig" das Lineup ist, sondern Wacken ist auf internationaler Ebene bekannter als die meisten anderen Metalfestivals. Egal ob irgendwo in Südamerika, Ägypten, Japan oder Neuseeland... Wacken hat einen etablierten Namen. Wacken hat einen weitaus höheren Status und dabei geht es nicht darum ob du oder ich das Festival gut oder schlecht finden.

@@GhosTxWarrior Selbst da gibt es genug Konkurrenz. Die ganze Welt kennt Hellfest, Graspop oder Bloodstock. Die ganze Welt kennt sogar das Party San welches meiner Meinung nach das beste metal Festival Deutschlands ist. Und gerade bei metal Festivals geht es am Ende auch um die Qualität. Und spätestens seit dem kleinen shitstorm wegen Tryptikon ist die Reputation von Wacken hinüber. Falls du nicht weißt was ich meine: Tryptikon (die Band von Tom Warrior von ehemals Hellhammer und Celtic Frost, eine absolute metal Legende) hatte einen guten Slot (verdientermaßen, ich mag sie nicht aber man muss Respekt anbringen wo Respekt verdient ist). Die Leute haben sich aufgeregt warum eine so düstere und viel zu harte Band einen so guten slot bekommt anstatt eine "Band die Spaß macht wie Feuerschwanz". Lieblingszitat "so eine Band gehört nicht aufs Wacken". Wacken ist kein metal mehr, und das ist nötig um der "king of metal festivals" zu sein.

Wird schon Gründe geben, warum Wacken immer und immer wieder in 1-2 Tagen ausverkauft ist... und ich könnte wetten das Party San (auch wenn es ein geiles Festival ist) ist bei weitem nicht so bekannt, vorallem nicht in Ländern am anderen Ende der Welt.

@@drstihl2007 du meinst Tryptikon 2016? Da war echt erschreckend wenig los, fand ich persönlich aber ein gutes Konzert. Emperor 2017 hatte vor Megadeth auch einen verdammt guten Slot, hatte jetzt nicht das Gefühl, dass das Konzert schlecht ankam. Obwohl es halt Blackmetal ist. Generell kann ich das Argument, dass Wacken schwächer wird, aber nachvollziehen. Dennoch immer konstant ein solides Lineup wenn man diesen 0815 kram wie In Extremo, Hämatom etc. weglässt

Und In Extremo und Hämatom meine ich nicht mal unbedingt, ich rede von Acts wie Santiano, D'artagnan, Heino, Höhner, Deine Cousine, New Model Army, Extrabreit, Fisher Z, Me and that Man, Alligatoah, Clawfinger, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Feuerschwanz, Uriah Heep, The Sweet (würg), Sisters of Mercy, Marteria und und und. Heißt nicht automatisch, dass die alle schlecht sind (bis auf the sweet, schlechteste rock band aller Zeiten) aber sie gehören einfach nicht auf ein metal festival. In Deutschland halten Death Fest, Barther, Party San, Summer Breeze, In Flammen etc die Stange hoch im metal Bereich, das Wacken verkommt nach und nach zum ZDF Fernsehgarten.

@@tonysterrin2989 die heulen alle rum wegen dem cashless payment....muss ehrlich sagen das ich das ganz gut fand. Musste an der Bändchenausgabe nur 10 min warten und an den Getränkeständen nie mehr als 5 min und das auch vor und während der Hauptacts, geht halt ohne Geld alles wesentlich schneller. Genervt hat nur die ansteherei um pissen zu gehn.
