Nice work! Ive resurrected lots of rough machines so i know the amount if work it takes. Just picked up 3 of these units, trying to get two good ones out of them.

Nice job. My plate completely wore through on the rear. They are usually cast mild steel which is not abrasion resistant. I welded on a hardox 450, 4mm plate.

Thx, looks like Ammann compactors have a cast iron baseplate. What a poor design.

How do you time the exciter u didn’t show that I need to know

Scribed lines or dots should line up on both shafts.

Can you recommend any good videos that go more in detail on rebuilding and re installing the exciter on these units?

Other than my videos, no sorry. You could try purchasing the workshop manual if you need torque specs etc. I just use this or something similar www.fastenal.com/fast/services-and-solutions/engineering-calculators/torque-calculator
