Hi guys, I do have such beautiful memories of Disneyland when I was young. We didn't have much money but my parents made sure we visited Disneland a couple times every few years. My mom would make us peanut butter n jelly sandwiches for lunch. It was so good because by lunch time we were so hungry. We were able to get one treat, a toy or candy to take home. Popcorn was a must and my favorites to eat in the park.❤❤

i’m one of four kids, so i remember my parents bringing in peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, with chips and pretzels to snack on while we waited in line! it was so fun to be able to enjoy the food aspect of disneyland in a whole new way as an adult! now it’s one of my favorite parts of being in the parks and planning my next vacation🙂

Haha growing up Mexican, my parents would bring chorizo con papa burritos, ham sandwiches, and tortas. I actually never wanted snacks/food from Disney as a kid, but seeing the other kids with a balloon or toy was what got me.

For some reason this is one of my fondest memories as a child and it’s strange that I remember this. It was August 1991, I was 4 years old and it was my first time going to Disneyland. My family drove in from Long Beach and we had packed bologna and cheese sandwiches, chips and other small snacks. I’ll never forget when I asked my grandfather if we could get the Disney food and his response was “McDonald Douglas doesn’t pay me enough to get Disney food, but one day you will eat it.” I’ve gone to Disney over god knows how many times and he was right!

MigVee thank you for being so open and real about your childhood. My parents took me to Disneyland 3 times in my childhood and that was a blessing on its own, but the lunch bag game was strong. My mom would make ceviche and we’d get a locker to store it and have lunch. We would get Churros as a treat but growing up to Mexican parents has its own quirks. I also still love ceviche de camarón! Love the channel and the energy, thank you for the happiness you bring me.

Same- mostly. No ceviche- but the 2 or 3 times my mom took us, she prepared lunch and breakfast and we were allowed one meal (and a FEW treats) in the parks. Plaza Inn and Hungry Bear are what I remember. Still love Plaza Inn. ❤ it’s nice to be able to try all the treats as an adult, but I totally get why she stuck to her budget. Wasn’t easy w/three kids then …and even harder for families now. xoxo, Mom

The very first memory I had was when I first moved to the country. I had never heard of Disneyland prior to. I remember by dad brought a big cooler of noodles and sandwiches and we ate it at the tables by the locker rooms. I remember feeling jealous of the other kids eating the parks' food, but now, I would trade anything to relive that memory again.

Back in the early 80's our grandparents always took us to Disneyland during the summers & holidays. Coming from a Filipino family grandma usually packed a cooler of cooked rice, a pot of chicken adobo, and canned corn beef sandwiches (the corn beef was cooked with onions, garlic, and tomatoes). We used to hate having to leave the park, walk all the way back to the car, and eat all that cold food when what we really wanted was the burgers & fries, but grandpa was old school & always said, "Either eat it or starve." Lol 😄 So we did. Those are Disney memories we'd never forget.

Back in the day mom pulled out ticket books from previous visits (all A, B ) and if you were quiet on the drive over. She splurged for new books. We were very quiet cause a lot was on the line. Hmmm nothing like a baloney sandwich mom had carried in her purse from home till lunch. Something about Disneyland makes a warm mustard baloney sandwich taste great. Yep even back in the late sixties early seventies Disney food was just a dream. Yes when the tickets were done (and so was mom) we called it a day. Usually happened in the mid afternoon.

Yes! My family usually would bring sandwiches (turkey, ham, PB&J on Roman Meal. Do they even make Roman Meal anymore? I never see it in stores anymore). But at the end of the night we always bought one dessert to share as a family. I remember I always wanted to try the funnel cake but everyone preferred a Churro or Ice Cream Sundae. But my favorite memory was when my older brother got his first full-time job and came home one day during the summer and took me and my younger brother to Disneyland as a surprise. This was our first sibling outing to Disney without our parents (He was 22, me 13, our younger brother 11), and at the end of the night he got us each our own dessert! I finally got my funnel cake and yes I ate it all by myself. Nothing ever tasted so delicious. But I don't think it was funnel cake. It was all the magic my big brother brings to my life

Back in the day, my mom used to sneak ham and cheese sandwiches into the park by sticking them between the garter of her pants and her waist. I don’t remember if we weren’t allowed to bring outside food into the park and that’s why she did it but I do remember that same situation where I was bitter I had to eat body-temp sandwiches while I see other kids walking around with delicious treats. Now, as an adult, I think back on it and just love my single, immigrant mother so much more for working a double job just to support my brother and I. And occasionally, once she’s saved up enough and every few years or so, we went to Disneyland and had the best time. I know now that she did her best to give us what other kids had and it just makes Disneyland all that more special. ❤

Our family was at Disneyland in January and rode Casey Jr. for the first time, such an underrated ride! We are so excited to visit Toontown for the first time hopefully later this year.

Favorite ride is Rise of the Resistance, but I'll forever have soft spots in my heart for Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion.

Mexican familia right here, my parents made Chorizo burritos and chili verde burritos. We always had oranges and avocados for the sides. It was the best looking back. ❤

My family always bring our own foods. We pack lots of snacks to get through a full Disney day, it saves so much time and money. Expect that time when we went to Shanghai Disneyland, they didn't allow guests to bring food into park so we ate everything we had packed at security or else they disposed it

Omg yes! I have vivid memories of having a cooler backpack with a sandwich, a bag of chips a can of soda and a water bottle! And by the time it was time to eat they would be all smashed 😂

We use bring and still bring our own food and drinks when we do visit the park too. So you guys aren't alone. So don't feel bad about it. This strawberry ice cream sundae looks absolutely delicious/amazing. What I miss at Disneyland are the giant character lollipop and mickey bar ice cream bar..
