Waco Investigation Day 5 Part 1 - 1995-07-25 - Product 66327-1-DVD - House Committee Government Reform and Oversight. Subcommittee on National Security, International Affairs, and Criminal Justice. The joint subcommittees investigated the failed February 28, 1993 Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Bureau raid on the Branch Davidian compound near Waco, Texas in which four ATF agents were killed. Also under investigation is the April 19, 1993 FBI raid on the compound with tanks and tear gas and the resultant fire in which 80 cult members died, including their leader David Koresh. Attorneys for Branch Davidian leaders Koresh and Steve Schneider, testified about Davidian religious beliefs and way of life, especially those of Mr. Koresh. They both claimed that the April 19 raid was a tragic mistake caused by federal officials' incompetence. Filmed by C-SPAN. Non-commercial use only. For more information, see www.c-spanvideo...

The problem with the atf murderous raid was NOT the fact that they refused to arrest David Koresh while he was out and about, or that the thugs lost the element of surprise, but the fact that agents of the unConstitutional atf were allowed to interfere with a situation where local and state law enforcement felt no need to interfere with the peaceful and lawful activities of the Branch Davidians. The Sheriff was interviewed on Waco: Rules of Engagement and confessed that although he thought the group had some mighty strange practices, nothing he knew of that they were doing was illegal. It should have ended there until such time as local (Constitutional) law enforcement had probable cause to serve a search or arrest warrant. We got along swimmingly without the existence of the fbi and the atf for most of our nation's history, and it's time to abolish them again so that we can retain our lives, liberty, and property, unless somebody reasonably suspects we're committing a crime (that includes a victim!!!).

Local law enforcement literally called the ATF and asked them to come in and help and investigate after finding pineapple grenade shells that were mailed to mount caramel. Before that the ATF had no idea who David Koresh was and couldn’t care less - they were contacted directly and asked to help by local law enforcement.

Those “grenades” were not explosive. They were sold as paperweights gun shows. My roommate in college had a grenade like that and we used it as a paperweight. We told everyone it was a live grenade and was there to help improve our impulse control. We called it “the responsibility grenade”. It was very entertaining on the very rare occasion that someone didn’t immediately get the joke.

@@miket9563 An ATF agent that sustained grenade wounds is recognized during these hearings by Fred Heineman. I think on the 8th or 9th day. The Davidians literally used grenades during the 2/28 gun battle. No one disputes that.

As a Canadian I’m always confused by Americans trying to repeal the 2nd amendment. Shall not be infringed sounds like it can’t be touched in any legal way.

First they take the position that infringed Defines the wholesale Banning and confiscation of firearms. Second this sets up a straw man where they can state that they're not coming for the wholesale confiscation of guns they only want to regulate them. Invent terms like assault rifle (to scare people) that don't exist. Then they proceeded to Define every weapon they want under these undefinable broad terms. Third something that you always must keep in mind, powerfull Elites, politicians, oligarchs, and the Uber rich can always pay for secret paths to licensing, such as donating to politicians judges Sheriff's Department campaigns for Re-election in exchange for licensing that normies can't access to essentially have a private Market on private firearm ownership and the safety it provides. This or they will license them only to specific security contractors that can only be afforded by the uber wealthy. They turn it into a club and the scrubs ain't invited. When you live in a two-tier Justice systems this is how the law works. The rich and Powerful receive no punishments whatsoever (see Alic Baldwin). And the guys scrubs often receive no justice and no quarter by the system when sentences are given. This is the same in any country around the world that has "banned guns" it isn't as if their Elites, politicians, royalty, celebrities, and uber wealthy are walking around with no protection no one with guns around them not having gun themselves. The average citizen just isn't allowed to have them all those people can pay their way to getting whatever they want. Rules for the not for me.

I honestly don’t know the answer to this… is it legal in Canada for a normal citizen to own an automatic weapon?

Chuck shoe mur is another example of WHY THEY NEED TERM LIMITS!
@patrick4662
@patrick4662 7 ай бұрын
There are term limits. I think maybe what you are referring to are the re-elections? In the role he served in these videos he ultimately served nine terms. NINE TERMS. There are definitely term limits - if you take issue with him being re-elected nine times you just need to take a look at his district and the people that vote for him. More recently he has been in the senate and I believe he is in the middle of his 5th term. He can lose power at any moment, someone just needs to run against him and beat him. Maybe you should try!

This is the best part of the whole investigation. The only two person (Lawyers Zimmerman and De Guerren) who've seen those Davidians especially the kids and women before they're intentionally gassed and burned...

they talk about that on the 7th or 9th day of the hearings. These two men spent something like a total of 34 hours with Koresh. they talked and visited him a few times. The FBI collectively spent like over 250 hours with Koresh and other followers talking to them at length. Its ridiculous how much credit the repubs give these two lawyers on this day and the 5 subsequent days. They had very little first hand knowledge of the facts, and koresh was playing them for suckers just like everyone else.

there were also two people that snuck in. But they were 'true believers' and both left before the fire.

What exactly did David Koresh do to save all those children? Does he and/or the other adults inside bear 1 ounce of responsibility for anything that happened? Why didn't Koresh come out like he specifically promised, after his manifesto was aired?

There came a time when he was told anyone stepping out would be shot. The tapes from wire taps on April 19th after David threw the phone out into the yard. You can hear the negotiator say one unarmed person could step out to get the phone. You never hear them ask for women or children. But the bann on exiting was after the last ones who got out left. They were being held hostage. The thing that set the feds off. Was how calm everyone was as the center was being gassed. They gave o fs About the tanks.

Two great attorneys, and it’s no surprise their session is clipped maybe more than any other part of the hearings in the major Waco docs which are largely sympathetic to the davidians. But they had very little first hand knowledge of the situation, and yet they were convinced koresh was honest with them. Their reasoning for the ATF firing first is not air tight and yet they seem confident they are right. These two are biased as all get out.
