1995 Joint Congressional Hearings on Waco Arnold & Tabor Testimony

As many of my KZbin viewers and readers of my books know, Dr. Philip Arnold and I were closely involved in the February 28-April 19, 1993 David Koresh Branch Davidian tragedy in Waco, TX. with 80 Davidians killed and 4 BATF agents.
It has been nearly 30 years. In 1995 we testified before the Joint Congressional Hearings. Here are the excerpts of our testimony from Day 5, July 26, 1995. I also highly recommend the six-part drama "Waco" produced by Paramount Pictures with Taylor Kisch and Michael Shannon playing Koresh and FBI negotiator Gary Noesner. It is very well done based on both FBI and Branch Davidian input. It is available on Amazon and other outlets.

James... Thankyou.... I was in touch with Philip Arnold in the year 2000 and he provided me with the negotiation tapes. I'm in the UK.... Unfortunately the cassettes that had DK expound upon isaiah 40 to 66 were missing. I wish I could hear them or read the transcript.

I found it interesting that so many of the committee members persisted in viewing the incident as a moral issue rather than focusing on the real issue, which is determining an appropriate manner to deal with those who have beliefs contrary to our own. The best analogy given was that of a foreign language - if you must deal with someone who speaks a language other than your own, you'd better have a good interpreter by your side!

I’ve been really interested in the whole Waco siege recently and it’s scary how much force was used to serve a search warrant for a gun charge on a small rural Texas church community. If you watch the whole investigation you’ll see one side of the committee continuously try to demonize David Koresh. While he doesn’t seem to be a saint the way they paint him (some of the survivors have a different pov). Nothing excuses the assault that took place on 4/19/93. It’s crazy that was almost 30 years ago. It’s unfortunate that the government still didn’t realize how they gave koresh the exact apocalypse he was expecting. While I feel sorry for the 4 agents and their family’s. That is not reason to terror and over see the death of 82 mostly innocent children, women and men.

Great respect for you Dr Tabor I have been following you on youtube from my Christian belief and historical interest .I may live over 3,000 miles from Texas on the east coast of England in fact but well remember the Waco massacre which you did your best to prevent.

Really!?? Arnold and Tabor were (are) cuckholds, and prepared poorly for this. Regarding the question on why they had guns you evaded...I answer this quoting Koresh's Australian media interview, "Guns are the right for Americans to own. It is no ones business if we have guns". Regarding coloured whomans discriminatory question on the religion being an "off shoot" of a religion. So what? Protestanism is an off-shoot of Catholicism. Again relion and worship is a constitutional righ. The government or constitution does NOT define what religion U.S. citizens can and cannot practice, God forbid. Perhaps you could of added the way the Davidians were treated by authorities is the reason and is any wonder they did come out! And that the ATF and FIBI started everything! Again, this is a quote of Davidians both inside the building and from survivors. Where was your research Tabor!?

Koresh truly was and us of the 5th seal, as it is a national connection of a region like our southern US or Bible Belt today, in relation to the other three national regions of the 6th seal, then related to the sun of universal empire in the political east; moon of nationalism in the industrial north; and newly urban and full-continental constellation of the stars or seven churches, which then fall from heaven in the fig tree religiously of such a given national culture and heritage, becoming a departing scroll in the Lord and scripture fulfilled, in relation to a Plymouth Rock, or white stone, having the new name of Jesus Christ doctrinally written upon it, whereby such kings and captains and rich men and great and small within such democratic nations, hide themselves in the rocks, and holes of the rocks, from a direct facing and sanctification coming only with the Lord alone.

Koresh and those with him did not “call upon the name of their God”, when the CS gas began to come in; they called upon the “same” God of scripture which every Catholic and Protestant today, claim to believe in - but can give no public answer for, since he’s a floating feller somewhere out there, who said Blessed be the poor rich people, who do not have the public character to come into an open public forum with the common people. Where’s that “God” in whom they claim to “trust”, in sentences written on the back of police cars and on judge’s benches? Let them bring him down, if he is a God. They stand on a class legislated violence, on a “handwriting of ordinances” which is against a true Christianity formed by wholly gathered communities like Acts 2; and not on God. Indeed, God - as an open and just consideration of all men - “is not in all their thoughts”, because - as said - he’s a floating feller somewhere out there, and has nothing to do with an alone morally answerable human history and culture. The “violent setting” started with the class and revolutionary bloodshed of the Liberal Revolutions, as the today “scarlet colored beast” upon which the “great whore” of a global capitalism rides., prostituting all peoples to the monetary circulation of the marketplace. Who made the State, the judge of who and what is God? Even the Declaration acknowledges God as a direct equality of all men, to which, the just powers of government are secondary.
