Wacom Bamboo CTL-470K Review & Thoughts

For those still wondering about this tablet. This tablet (The CTL-470) first released in 2011 under the "Bamboo" branding. A second generation (The CTL-471) came out in 2016 under the new "One" branding. In 2017 the second generation "One" released (The CTL-472). As of writing, there is no announcement of a newer generation (April 2nd, 2021). Though I advise that you wait for a new one however in case of better specifications. Wacom typically releases new tablets 2-3 years apart. There is a possibility that this year or next year will have a new generation. Edit: The reason you might not be able to find these older generation tablets is because of high demand from osu! players.

I have a silver one thanks to my mom who got it for me. It's just nice for someone who doesn't take drawing too serious but wants to try digital painting (and writing) anyway.

im still using this, im gonna be moving up to the wacom 13 as i feel like drawing directly to a screen would improve my line work, my digital line work SUCKs compare to on paper, takes me a couple of hours digitally to do what i'd do on paper in 5-10 minutes

You've got to practice with tablets like this, it's an instinct you need.

Sorry but she made it she made the video back in May 2017 while she was still using macOS Sierra so you are trying to use it on macOS Mojave which does not work I recommend you try using the patched drivers or just switch to windows it is so much better than macOS in every way including app support and Wacom bamboo tablets still work on Windows 10 and the current version of windows which is windows 11 as of 2022

hey people!, i got this from a friend and he lost the driver CD, do you guys know where can i download it? i tried in the off. website but didnt find the driver for this model... what can i do? do i even need the drivers? its seems like its working when i click the tablet with the pen but i kind of wanted to put the right configuration..

Hello! I just had the same problem, I've looked for help on the wacom website and a telematic assistant help me. I thought I had problems with my driver, but it was the bamboo.exe that doesn't work because it's outdated depending on your operating system (mine windows 10). I think I have not explained myself very well (sorry for my bad English hahaha)

in your computer you may have a folder in "program files" which will be called "tablet" or something like that, there are some things about the tablet like the pen settings. The tablet works on other programes, like sketchbook, but I still don't know how to use it well at all :(

Can I use the pen by itself on, say, an iphone? Or can it only be used with this tablet? I realized I bought this about 8 years ago, never opened it, now im in need of a drawing stylus pen and remembered I had this in the closet.

No, the pen (STYLUS) can only be used with this tablet. A phone or another device will not "recognize" it.

This is a CTL tablet meaning it doesn’t have touch but the CTH has touch so you are talking about another model of the 470 or the 670

my tablet lines are very very shakey!! drawing a line seems impossible I need help!! is there anything I can do to fix this!! Where do I go! I'm so frustrated

First try to draw a true straight line with a ruler, if it is still shaky you must solve the problem by your self with your own hand. If you have an over shaky hand or the tablet does shake you can use a stablizer on some softwares

at the end of the video you were going to say why you think the old bamboo tablets are so popular and then your Brain fell apart and you never really did answer the question except to say that maybe Walcom collectors are interested in the tablet that therefore it drives up the price’ but you really should’ve taken some acid... and thought about it for a while before you touted the benefit of the newer drawing tablet... because your video was pretty good, I guess, but the end was really poor to say the least... and it left me with a feeling that I really Don’t want to watch anymore of your videos, if you have any, because whatever confidence I had in your opinion was completely erased by the inconsistency in the ending comments  … Anyway have a nice day
