Hi Peter Han, Your video demostration of Cintiq 16 is by far the best I have seen. I like how you didnt ditch it due to its non-pro label. I told Wacom people I met that I think its wrong to say that this one is not for professionals. I am one who generally prefer Intuos Pro tablets, but have to say I wouldnt have any problem as far as I can see, to use this one professionally. Very thorough review! You're amazing! I’ve had a Artist 15.6 Pro from XP-Pen. The pen is really really good and it has a laminated display (no or at least very little parallax) and the price is really low. The drawing experience is almost as good as the Wacom Cintiq 16 plus it has shortcut keys along the side.

I also had the 21UX from back in 2010, and recently moved to the Wacom 16 and upgraded to Wacom 21HD, such an interesting journey into the Cintiq boat, cant imagine how much I didnt took into account the size of the 21UX and how much space it took from the desk, now I regret a bit the move from the 16" to 22" because of that and regarding the technology behind the one presented here: 16" and its larger brother (the 22HD) I would greatly suggest this one: the 16" regarding resolution, build value and the pro pen 2 together with its price, it is perfect.

Good review! I current have a XP-Pen Artist 15.6 Pro display Tablet (a couple of years ago). I about the Artist 15.6 Pro pen display because it was really cheap and I wasn't sure if I would actually use it. I actually use it a bit and was quite happy with it.

Its important for Mac users to take note whether you need a USB C HDMI 4K HUB Adapter for MacBook Pro. I got my tablet and couldn't connect it, had to order one and wait 2 days! 😭

when I got my cintiq 16 I threw in a glove I found on amazon that makes your hand slide across the screen easier, and prevents you from getting sweat or skin oil on the screen....pretty nice and would reccommend it. They're cheap too.

Very nice review and great demo Peter. One addition - I have used the Wacom 22/24 displays too as well as the 27 (which is gigantic). I'm considering going for the 16 as you can hit a button to switch it to 'tablet mode' and effectively it becomes an Intuos Pro for any other display. That being the case, I can use the 16 on my lap or portable in 'pen display' mode. Then I can use it in tablet mode with a 27" monitor. That to me is the best of both worlds. I've yet to try it out though.

Hello! Thank you very much for making this clear review. I recently bought the Cintiq 16 and I'm very happy and satisfied with the purchase, especially because the previous model I had was the Wacom Intuos Art Medium. I have to say that I made a wonderful upgrade. However, I have a question about pressure sensitivity while drawing with Photoshop. I can't have the same pressure sensitivity while drawing that you demonstrated in your demo sketch. Every sign or line that I draw remains uniform. I checked the settings and changed brushes, but I still don't get a noticeable stroke difference based on the pressure I apply while drawing. Do you have any ideas or advice? I really appreciate it. Thanks very much.

I'm curious about this one but I'm bummed that it's not a laminated screen. The pro version had the laminated screen but that has been discontinued. How scratched up does the screen get? I'm thinking of getting the Huion KAMVAS Pro 16 Instead.

If you're using Photoshop, then yes. A more powerful computer and a good graphics card will make the experience smoother and faster. So, a gaming computer will be the perfect drawing/painting computer.

i dont have this exact cintiq model but after using the 13hd (i bought it used) for about almost 5 weeks i havent noticed any scratches on the screen (and i am not a light sketcher). if you want to be safe though it wont hurt to buy a protective film ^^

Just an FYI, around 29:15... The rubber stopper foot didn't sit right because they are corner-specific. You put the right-corner stopper on the left corner. Agree about the stand... No idea why Wacom decided to go with the VESA mounting plate but then still require 4 screws to mount the stand to the plate. If they're not going to provide a quick-disconnect then why not just have the stand mount to the VESA holes. Love my Cintiq 16, and I do travel with it at times and really wish the stand was quick-disconnect.

Not very affordable really. I got an XP-Pen 15.6, which pretty much does the same thing and is very well built for less than half the price. After extensively using it over the past few months I can say it works really well. The Wacom tablets come calibrated out of the box and the XP-Pen does not, but I have a screen calibrator so was not a big problem for me. Screens go out of calibration over time, so a screen calibrator is a must if you want accurate colours.

Not high end, but a newer CPU and, at least 16gb of ram and decent GPU card will run it way faster, but try it on your laptop first.

Non related, just how to get a better end result -draw the basic shapes that might fit in the thing your trying to draw (eg: a beak is a cone, a body is a cuboid or giant cylinder) Don't take too much time in this step -add details -add lineart (to have clean lineart as a beginner zoom into a part, draw the line, zoom out, it looks clean -color, usually I would add a dark gray tone, then add another layer then I would add the basic colors without any highlights or shading Another layer, shading Another layer, highlight if you want Done :)

Shame there is always some compromise to make. I just bought the new Wacome One, because it is thinner and more portable. However, I'd love the same tablet with a 16" screen. This one however, is too fat and clumsy to just drop on the table and pick up whenever I want to draw.

The Cintiq pro 13 has a small screen but it has the multi-touch and a better colorimetry than Cintiq 16 (that's why Cintiq pro 13 is much expensive). But the screen of the Cintiq 16 is bigger and much confortable for drawing. I think the Cintiq 16 is better. Sorry for bad english, I'm french ;)

I have exp in both Photoshop and Krita, and Photoshop will always be superior. Krita is great, but it will struggle with 4K res images with a few tens of layers. That doesn’t happen with Photoshop. As far as functionality goes, masking is limiting in Krita, but does feel better than Photoshop when drawing.

Yes very much so. The pro has a 4k display, while this one mostly has 1280. The pro has etched glass, and express buttons at the top, while this only has one power on button, and no express remote. This model is awesome tho, and is really great to draw on.

Yes, Cintiq pro 16 has a 4k resolution, a multi-touch (you can zoom-in / zoom-out and move your draw with your fingers) and it has a better colorimetry (94% RVB, then Cintiq 16 have 72% RVB). But the Cintiq pro 16 coast ~1600$ and the Cintiq 16 coast ~ 600$ Sorry for bad english, I'm french

@@freffo3407 yes. I can work with a 1080p at 20inches, and no touch. It's really enough for me. Important things are parallax, accuracy, and tracking. Those are the essentials for me. And ofcourse an affordable price.

@@shashwatvishwakarma5324 No, unfortunately. This Cintiq is just a tablet monitor that you can draw on. That's it. The Wacom One however, you can use without a computer, if you have a android phone.
