This video in my recommended can't be a coincidence, this morning I was just about to buy the One 13 but it was sold out so I went for the 16, I don't regret it since I bet I'll find myself better with the bigger screen.

I got the 16 about a month ago on sale for $550. I have used the Citiq pros and I could not tell the difference. For me it is all about screen real estate. I have used smaller screens and did not find them functional. That extra two inches Is just right for tool and brush pallets while still leaving you with enough space for a good 8x10 drawing.

Indeed. And the sweet spot for a pro tool / price still ok is 22 inches. The wacom cintiq "non pro" is around 1k (and around 100% sRGB, is about fine if you can check some tones with your desktop monitor), and the XP-PEN 22E, only 400$. The Huions are a bit pricier, to put that kind of money I'd just go Wacom... I've used small cintiqs, too (and the iPad Pro!)... Is when I realized it's 22 or larger, for me.

I recently got the Wacom One from Prime Day for $300 instead of $400 (now its on $350 but everywhere else too meanwhile the Cintiq 16 still hasn't lowered in price after Prime Day), wished I had done more research prior and would had gone with the Cintiq 16 instead. The only thing I'm unsure about is the parallax of both, I'm wondering if the parallax on the Cintiq 16 is at least a little less than on the Wacom One, still trying to find the specs of the parallax for both.

Great video Aaron, i remember searching ages (last year) for comparisons and knowing which screen tablet to buy (for that time i had a basic wacom draw tablet, around 65$). In on of those search i found one of your reviews where i saw the cintiq 16 (650$). Now, where i live (south america) tablets and screentablets are over 30% more expensive, and not wacom brands (xp-pen, huion, and others) are not as cheap (also between 30 to 40% more than internet price). The thing is i could get and offer in the cintiq 16 (price was like 20$ more than in usa, but in comparison it was the best choice). Since then i've beein using it without any problem. Works incredible!!! My suggestion (if you are not rich, or if you are looking for quality/price) Extremely begginers: Just use pen and paper and work on your basis Begginers: Buy a cheap not display tablet (without screen). Mine was a Wacom Draw (65$ aprox) Medium and more (if you are serius on digital art): Get a Cintiq (or other brand), you can esasily rotate the cavas with the keyboard (im looking at you cintiq pro version) without sacrificing quality, and the price is really accesible. Anyway. thanks for your videos and for testing them for us!!!

Hello! I have been doing digital art for about 4 or 5 years, and I'm constantly sketching on the go. But I consider my self a hobbyist. Should I save up for the Wacom One or the Cintiq? I considered getting a new Ipad, but I have a pc, and I wasn't sure that would work.

I am thinking of getting the Wacom one just for photo editing. I don't do drawing so its main use would just be photo editing. I think the smaller tablet would be perfect fro this.

13 is too small unless you really need to be super mobile, I find 16 to be the sweet spot of mobility and screen size

Yeah, it feels cramped for my needs, but you can scale down the UI in Windows to fit more on the screen.

would I notice a difference between the 2 if I have been using a Wacom Intuos Pro for 3 years? I'm planning on buying one of these for an art school (both 2d and 3d) and I plan to take it with my every day, would taking the Wacom Cintiq 16 with me be much more trouble? Also, you say the Wacom One's screen is less bright, but how bright is that? is it really noticable or is it just a little less bright than the Wacom 16, but not to an average phone or computer screen?

I've used for long, professionally, a 12" Cintiq as had no other option... stay away from anything below 16. If you weren't moving the device that much, but working stationary at same desktop, Id TOTALLY recommend you to get the Wacom Cintiq 22 (around 1k bucks) or the xp-pen 22e (400). At certain job, I had to carry a PC mini tower under my arm, like every day for several weeks, as the company needed me to have a strange workflow for some time. For me that was not a big deal, even if people in the bus often gave the intrigued glance xD. To work in another place, it was in a lost village at the countryside, would pack every weekend a many Kg CRT huge monitor and a big tower. And at another company (actually did that in two) I spent 8 months carrying every day a Wacom Intuos 1. Man, were those large and heavy. It all depends on if you are afraid of carrying stuff around or not. But you spend a lot more hours working. I'd RATHER be non comfy some 25 minutes per trip that 8 hours working with no space for anything. My solution has often been to have a stationary pro solution at each place (ie, one big solution at home, another at the job (or beach, etc)). I'd definitely get me, if I were you, a solid back pack, put there the 16", and a laptop if needed. I don't see that much of a deal. The One uses almost the same space, and in the back that kind of weight difference ain't doing any much for you to notice.

I just replied to you in another comment what you should buy :). As much as I recommend those, and the Deco 03, is because I believe each range, each step in the ladder of products has a golden model and brand. The Huion and XP-Pen I just recommended you, for between 50- 70$. Between 84 - 130$ , it's the XP-Deco 03 and the Deco Pro Medium. And when you get really serious, IMO, in pen-tablets, it's Wacom Large (L), all the way. Best thing on the market for pen-tablets. But then u've gotta be a pen-tablet hardcore die-hard like me. As at a 500 -600$ price point, most people tend to prefer a display-tablet (cintiq or alternatives). What I see not a great deal is putting 650$ into the Wacom 16, when with 400$ you have the 22E, to work at profesional size. That's what I don't get from people, I guess is mostly a trap for those having painted fewer years, as to know. Then again, if you want something even better, your only chance then is wacom, from a 24 Cintiq Pro, to a wonderful 32". An artist along his/her career is often able to go up that path. I stayed in large pen-tablets (I have the XL, costed 800 in its day, lol). The one thing clear is that Wacom's durability is proven. So IMO Wacom starts to make sense at the 1k $ price range (ie, cintiq 22 non pro) and beyond (or 500-600 or so for the Wacom L). For 60 - 150 bucks, heck no. If it breaks in 5 years, it would have provided the heck of a good service ! Like any piece of hardware, if well treated, all should last a lot more. Just don't go to any other crappier brand, stay within Wacom, XP-Pen and Huion. There's a benefit of using one of those 50 -70 $ tablets first, so don't feel bad : You get to MASTER the hand-eye coordination first, and then painting on screen will be a kids' game : It can make you better than others with the particular thing this magnetic grids are. Mostly, that you will count with the advantage of being able to handle perfectly at a company if they don't give u the luxury of a display tablet, but a classic one instead (if they put a cintiq for u, even better). Also, that if at some point your tablet would break, is a tad easier to improvise 50 bucks than 500 !!!. You earn with these tablets a SKILL. You then can opt to use Cintiqs in the future, but with the freedom of using classics if required. The tablet of choice ain't going to be any obstacle for you to become an artist ! Indeed, a cheap one can train u better.

Hi Aaron, I saw your wacom one review and I asked about powering the device using 2 usb A ports. Is there a performance difference when having it plugged using the power adapter compared to powering it using 2 usb As?

Thr 16 is great and can sometimes find for cgeaper than the one. I got a nearly new, nearly perfect condition cintiq 16 on an ebay bid for 230 box and everything included

Hi Aaron, I saw your wacom one review and I would like to ask you a question regarding pixels. The 13" pro has similar pixels to wacom one yet you have stated that the later is more dimmer. For me this is a limitting factor but how truly you see the difference and if it is significant and worth the price to buy the pro model?

Cintiq 16 is 210 cd/m2 (typ), Wacom One is 200 and Cintiq Pro is 250. So the difference in brightness isn't that significant between the Wacom One and the Cintiq 16. Honestly, I didn't look at the Wacom One and think it was too dim. I only mentioned it because it's a difference. One advantage to a brighter, more accurate screen is that you can color calibrate much more accurately to get your prints to match your screen. However, if you don't print, then it may not matter if one screen is a bit dimmer. There is an aesthetic quality to being able to see nice bright whites when you are painting, so there's that as well.

I bought the wacom one. I don't have a cintiq to compare it to, but compared to my monitor (which I bought for the color accuracy) there is a HUGE difference. Colors just seem duller. For me it's a non issue because I already have the monitor. But if it's important to you, it might be worth upgrading.

@@Vannabee13 It has a matte anti-glare film applied which dulls the colors compared to your glossy monitor. But your monitor might also be more color accurate and is likely much brighter than the Wacom One.

Wacom One because drawing on a screen is more intuitive.

The 16 would at least be larger. Aside from a better screen and more accurate pen, it does essentially the same thing as your 12WX, so you'll have to decide whether it's worth the upgrade or not.

I actually have a Wacom Intuos pro medium paper edition... i wanted to change it for Wacom One but i'm concerned about pressure points, my Wacom Intuos Pro is still better (8192) compared to Wacom One (4096). In fact Wacom Intuos Small has the same pressure points as Wacom One (4096). And let me tell you the difference while drawing is freaking big.

To be honest i like the cintiq 16 more than the pro. Works faster less heat...the screen doesnt bend and touch led screen. I had sent 3 cintiq pros 16 to repairs 3 times with bad pixels. Also on cintiq 16 you dont have any problems with resolution. What i really miss is the clarity of colors the pro has.

How was parallax comparison? And if wacom one being powered by a power bank or via usb port on android type c adaptor how long will it last?

That depends on the capacity and charging efficiency of the battery. I did an hour long demo painting plus some testing and the battery only went down about 10 or 20% on my Omnicharge 20. I may have been able to get even more efficient charging if I had dialed in the exact power requirements. The power consumption is relatively low on the Wacom One. Your phone could potentially run dead before a large battery bank would. To remedy that, you would need a hub that also supports charging your phone, but those require AC power themselves.

@@dimasprajoko Ah, yes! The Omincharge 20 can do that since it also has an AC outlet that can be used alongside the USB. That would totally work for making it mobile. I really enjoy painting outdoors with a tablet. I use the MobileStudio Pro to paint outdoors and it is quite a bit brighter than the Wacom One and still barely bright enough to see on a sunny day. I agree, the Wacom One would probably do better in the shade. I plan to test it outdoors when the weather improves. Honestly, I didn't notice a difference, in terms of parallax.

I don't understand why all of these reviews kept saying One is only good for beginners. The Intuos line has been used by professionals who produce AAA games and your telling me an upgrade like that is only good for beginners? I get it with the inadequate screen but most artists right now have a well-calibrated screen as secondary monitors.

Still, much a better deal the XP-Pen 22E for 400$ in Amazon first hand...or for those that have not yet understood that 22 is so much better than 16... the XP-Pen 15.6 (non pro) is just 300$ 1st hand. For al reports I have from people, they work great. You don't go wrong with Wacom, tho. (but.....! )

AHVA isn't an older technology, it's actually newer than IPS. AHVA is an IPS-like screen type with a different name because IPS is trademarked.

I own the wacom cintiq 16, got it on my birthday six months ago since then it was the cheapest wacom screen tablet, now I'm pissed they made a even cheaper one, my current tablet is good anyway compared to the one 13 xd

You have the better pen options. That's the only thing I miss with the one, only having one button. I'm used to the two (though I never liked the eraser on the end, I'd rather program one of the short key buttons for that)
