This is the only good, non-hacky review of this Cintiq in particular I've ever seen. Well done!

@@CladioJulianoArt You're welcome honestly! the inking portion was all I ever wanted to hear talked about as I'm a cartoonist and comic artist and its always glossed over in other channels videos. Other channels tend to focus on production values and sorta advertising it rather than going into any real technical detail.

I appreciated this review very much. One of my dreams is getting a Cintiq 22 once my Intuos Pro becomes obsolete. I’ve been spoiled by my iPad Pro for drawing on a screen rather than looking at it.

I've watched TONS of 22 videos. This is by far one of the BEST presentations of it out there, only suggestion would be to show the parallax for curious minds. Although I've seen in other videos that there is next to none even at the edges, but it would be a useful inclusion imo. Overall 10/10 one of the best 22 presentations I've seen in the past month since I started scouting :)

Great video, didn't even know the surface dial could work with the cintiq pro now, I know I have more variations of tools to use instead of being stuck with just wacoms tool! Thanks again for the video!

eyyy great video! i would like to ask you something, form the minure 14:21 you started to rotate the canvas, how did you rotate it? with the pen? or with the express key remote?
@CladioJulianoArt
@CladioJulianoArt 3 жыл бұрын
That was with the remote, or the Tabmate, can be done with both, and panning the canvas with the pen button hotkey. You could set a rotate modifier to the pen button too though. With that you would drag the pen left or right on the screen to rotate the canvas.

I want a Cintiq with a smooth surface though, this one does not have that? You say it draws like paper but I really don't like the idea of that.

I have this one but i want to get back using an intuos pro M but I don't have it so I unplugged the HDMI cable so now I am using a 22inch hybrid intuos cintiq haha

I love my Intuos pro Small. It's so comfortable to work with. But to paint directly on the screen is such a joy, my back and neck hate it though.

Is it possible to have NO pressure at all? I want all my lines to be the same tickness, thanks! (I guess that depends on the software?)
@ephemeralgod
@ephemeralgod 4 ай бұрын
That's program dependent but most programs have it. It's called "pen pressure sensitivity", and in Photoshop you can turn off dynamics in the brush settings on the default Hard Round brush.

Nice video. How it compares to Intuos Pro? Specifically the drawing surface texture. Also if the Pro Pen 2 nibs wear so fast as in default Intuos Pro surface. Another question. The textured surface create too much grain in the screen? A friend of mine purchased a Cintiq Pro 24 then returned it because the screen texture creates soo much grain. I tested some mate screen protectors on iPad Pro, both good and bad ones. All of them create so much grain and dulls the colors too much. Thanks. Now the most important question everybody is asking (it means 'me' lol)... will you include watercolor brushes in Paint Index v2?
@CladioJulianoArt
@CladioJulianoArt 3 жыл бұрын
The etched glass isn't like the texture sheets on the intuos pro, so the nibs don't wear out like that with it. Feels great to work on. I personally don't think it does. It's pretty clear when working on it. It just looks like a matte screen pretty much. Ah water color brushes? Maybe, but I don't really work with that medium so I'm not sure.

wait what? The Surface dial works with this? How about other ones? xppen\huion?
@CladioJulianoArt
@CladioJulianoArt Жыл бұрын
So the thing with the dial is it works best in Clip studio paint because they set the software up for it, but outside of it, it doesn’t work the same. So for example in photoshop it’s not really useful. Windows has system wide wheel settings so the dial can pair to any windows machine. I can recommend it if you work in clip, but if not I don’t recommend. Not sure about the other ones, but technically any controller should work with anything on windows because it’s just registering inputs the same as a keyboard would in most cases.

I'm like thinking should I get this one. I'm using Cintiq pro 16 (gen 1, No Vesa mount !) and I want to have a bigger screen plus a better ergonomic position. My Cintiq really hurts my back and neck but the screen is amazing. I'm not sure if I go with this Cintiq 22, it would be an upgrade or downgrade. Is the 1080p and lower color range really noticeable? Some people said it's looks blurry and washed off a bit! Thank you Cladio!
@CladioJulianoArt

I mean it’s certainly not going to look as crisp as the 16, 24 or 32, but I honestly didn’t mind the resolution. Also, the benefit of the lower resolution vs the 24 or 32 is that it doesn’t have a fan inside of it which the 24 and 32 do. So you don’t need a powerful system to power the 22. Screen would certainly be a downgrade as far as crispiness, but you gain the larger screen, and the stand that allows you to use in a verity of positions. I can’t lie it’s not a screen that’s going to wow you, but I still found it usable for drawing and painting. Especially if you have a multi display setup.

Thank you very much for giving the fair opinion. In my country, we can’t return products, unless it’s defect from factory. I like the size and the design of this model, big plus to the included stand ! However, the sharpness n color are only things that still unsure to me. I think I have to see it in person which is so hard to find 😹 By the way, you have a brush on artstudio pro on iPad? There is a brush called Juliano. The brush engine is amazing ! The app is very easy to navigate n complete even I paint on iPad mini.

I am a junior graphic designer, I currently own an Intuous BT Medium non display tablet but i find it very difficult with the hand eye co-ordination. I want to learn to draw concept art but my current skill level is just above stick men. I am also considering the iPad pro but the display in this video is on sale right now for the same price as the iPad. I want to be able to see where I am drawing and where the pen line is. Would you personally recommend this tablet for someone like me at my skill level as a long term investment?

The Cintiq is great, but the iPad Pro is going to give you a ultra streamlined experience. Turn on and start working kind of experience. I would reccomend iPad Pro.
