frankly 3000 dollars with the base. no but, one mounts a pc ultra powerful for this price. considering the prices and the little of evolution of their product I passed at the competition and they have nothing to envy to wacom, for hardly more than half of the price at wacom.

Will the current 16pro remain as a slightly less pro alternative? I'm sure this new 17 is great technically, but it appears a bit more cumbersome if one doesn't want it on the desk all yhe time. Not to mention the significant price differential. 😢

Been using the 13HD since it came out in 2013. This one is looks really good. Though I'll never spend over 2k for a cintiq. But maybe in 5 years i'll upgrade to this model

I've also had a 13HD since back then! In fact just today i replaced it with an XP Pen. Nowadays it's obvious that the competition has better value than Wacom, but back in the early 2010's maybe not so much? Maybe our purchase wasn't so bad back then lol

This. When I bought a 21" 12 years ago ir came with the acrylic Surface which is more prone to scratch. Wacom was critiziced and was rolling again the glass ones but absolutely refused to change my screen.

@@McCartoon legit I have the Cintiq 16 and within less than a week of light use (light handed too), the screen had gouges in it and when I contacted them, the support acted like a was a stupid kid who never used a pen before. I had to fight to get it replaced. When it came back from replacement, it was the same unit with just a new screen which wasn’t what they told me they’d do. It now no longer shows any serial numbers or anything when you pull up any of the drivers and it actually works worse than when I first got it. The screen just doesn’t pick up most light handed lines.

Are the current regular non pro models really that scratchable? Seem a weird development. I haven't tried those, but used a 12wx for years without a single little micro scratch. And that screen was plastic too. 😮

@@AltCutTV I think the new ones aren't, but at the time, that was a big problem, the material was not up to par with what Wacom was supposed to tout as top tier manufacturer.

@@McCartoon So I looked this up, and apparently there is a screenprotector like surface on the 16 and 22 regular models. (I don't remember this being the case on my old 12wx, just very hard plastic) So maybe they just replaced this then? Seems there is a glossy glass surface under. Just like on the XP-Pen I have now. Was a bit surprised by this as I don't remember seeing Wacom sell any such surface films in their shop, like XPP does.

Not one single video (except from your partner seller " Scan Pro Graphics") or forum topic about this announcement, 5 days after its reveal. Not a single thread or word in english speaking communities... This is quiet unique in the tech world and new product announcements. Of course your tablets are top of the line but your prizes just became too crazy and qualitative concurrents are breathing in your neck. Maybe there is a se-ri-ous lesson to be learned about the arrogant pricetagging?

I don't understand the purpose. - They made portable 17" dimensions with small bezel, however they also made it extremely superthick and trigger handle buttons behind nobody will ever use - which ruins portability and adds useless weight. So it is not portable. - they made it priced like a car, but people who can afford to waste such money will buy bigger versions, not 17 inch. Especially in the age of AI art where there is no future for the artists and competitors offer a more affordable options - all this seems like schizophrenia.

Notice the color spaces, only 88% Adobe RGB but 99% DCI-P3 and 100% REC.709 suggests that these models are aimed more at the video editing folks.
@boloid_

That's a great point, but i think the same problems apply to video editing. A video editor putting used car money on a monitor won't go for 17 inches @@Minsetti

I don't like this line of cintiq. I was already complaining about the pros for only have remote. What happened to the express key buttons that wacom is known for. My god. They are catering towards tablet users. Yes, touch and the screen buttons are phenomenon and for some, keyboard is enough especially 3D workspaces like I do but for swift easy work, expresskeys being on front useful is much more of an innovation than trying to be tablet. Sorry, I still love my Cintiq Pro 32. That thing is massive and expensive. The express key remote is fine but also hit or miss. The Cintiq 24 I have in the past that has plenty of expresskey and a wheel is still today a much advance looking that just screen. Just my opinion. Every artist is different I guess. To me, this line is what I call the only line of cintiq I'll probably skip. If another mobile studio pro comes out, I was hoping they still have the express key and wheel on front attached to it but better battery.

I agree 100 percent with this. The older models actually seemed to warrant the higher price also.

@@SketchPLAY1 Yes, to me their Cintiq 24HD is much more advanced looking. My only complaints about it is the wheel instead of slider that I'm useed to on their old 12wx and 21ux and been using for almost a decade but I feel in love with the wheel slider after some years and actually work out pretty well on my workflow. The remote key is sometimes slow and has some delays at times even if it's connected. But of course, patience and some tweaking, it's almost unnoticable. Now we have this.... is it still gonna support remote? Maybe but will it be attach to the screen like the old pro models... not sure. Why are they getting rid of express keys? Look at Huion, look at XP-Pen. My God, their new tablets has express keys and it's so much better looking that this.... surface pro slash windows tablet look a like. Yeah, wacom has lost what make them unique... their keys. They are now moving towards tablet looks. I hated it so much. Yeah, your few buttons at the back is not selling me that you removed a lot of keys.

@@AceLive_ Yea that old touch strip in the back with eight buttons on each side was superior to this new 4 button controller style thing they have, and yeah even the remote went well with the wide bezel the 24 and 32 had. I just don't think Wacom has any faith in the designs that made people want them.

@@IIRemy It's amazing, I don't even know what to say haha. Perfect size, and it's even smaller than my old 16 inch one, but with 17 inches and 4k the Photoshop interface doesn't bother and I have plenty of space to draw on. And the things they l give you to put it on so it stands on a table worked out really well, they give a very good angle, so I'm not going to buy an arm or anything (plus I travel often so it's easier to travel with them). And the display oh my god.... The colors...................... So yeah, it's amazing. I don't use buttons on the sides and I turned off touch, you can hear the fan, but it doesn't bother me and yes it costs like a rocket ship haha, but I need to say I enjoy my life now.
