I purchased the tablet a few weeks ago, and the bluetooth works, though there's a bit of a lag. I have a pretty powerful computer. 32 GB ram, i7 7700k 4.2 GHz, GTX 1080 ti, so with all of that considered, the lagging/jitter that I notice had to be the bluetooth. Plugging in the mircrousb confirmed what I believed, removing the jitter and lag all together. Also, if you're a taller person, a small tablet may not be the best bet for you, considering the size. For reference, I'm 186 cm (6'2") It takes some time to get used to drawing on an area that is almost the size of your hand. But it's do-able.

hi yes hello I'd just like to say, that once you have the tablet, I HIGHLY recommend getting Medibang Paint Pro. It's an amazing software for drawing with lots of brushes, functions, filters, effects, and whatnot. It's by far the best art program I've had yet! It's completely free too! Tho, if you get intimidated by it at first glance, use Firealpaca, which has an onion skin mode, so it's good for animation too (besides just normal art)! and THEN move to medibang. It's what I did. (firealpaca is free too btw)

These tablets have no reason to exist anymore. For 60 - 90 $ you can get the Xp-Pen Deco 01 and 03. Bigger surface, paper-like texture, 8k levels of pressure, more hotkeys. The 03 is even wireless and you don't have to buy any additional kit to do so. I stoppped reccomending the Intuous tablets, there's no reason to spend more to get less. Get the Xp-Pen ones :P
@nakushiro783
@nakushiro783 6 жыл бұрын
The only argument is that Wacom is the most secure when it comes to software compatibility (almost guaranteed to work with any program you can think of), and some people really want those bundled programs. But personally, I would also recommend beginners to get the bigger drawing area of XP-Pen (or other alternatives) and just try out free programs like Medibang and Krita to get started.
@IMKatar
@IMKatar 6 жыл бұрын
If you consider the price difference, you can pay the same even buying the software =/. You could get CSP (ofter at sale for 20$), Painter 6 (50$) and maybe Affinity Photo for 50$ = 200$, and you have the additional value of a better tablet. Yeah, I still see no reason to go for wacom tablets at this point unless we talk about the screen ones. And even that is debatable, because other brands offer a better value for money.

Just picked up the Intuos Small two days ago, my first drawing tablet, ever.. I'm a total newb when it comes to drawing and digital drawing tools, so I was concerned that I was wasting my money. Setup was painless on both my mac and win PCs, BT works like a charm, and I was surprised just how quick I got used to drawing without looking at the tablet; almost like, "This should not be this easy...". It's one less thing to be concerned about while I learn. :)

@@Maryielle I use clip studio paint, it comes with the license. And yea it also was hard for me, what I did to get used to it was sketch something on paper and take a picture of it ( sometimes it was a drawing that I had done and liked) and then passed to clip studio, lowered the opacity and started sketching on top. It helped me more then just doing the direct lineart since it made my strokes and lines more lose. And from there on it was just a mater of drawing mas much as I could and slowly stop using the pictures when I felt comfortable. I can say after having it for around 4 to 5 months and using it basically every day, also as a mouse as well not only drawing, do I feel like my art is lose and I feel happy with it. Hope it helps! it does take some time.

I just bought one as a replacement for my ancient Wacom Bamboo which I've had for about a decade before it passed away R.I.P. I was very disappointed with its great, great... grandchild. The quality of the tablet screams budget especially when you press the buttons which sound and feel like something is braking inside and the pen is way too light and feels like a flimsy piece of plastic. Further, they took away the touch capability as well as the pen no longer erases when you turn it around! I suspect they brought the quality down because the once excellent quality entry-level tablets from Wacom were eating away from the sales of the more expensive models. Needless to say, I sent it back immediately and will be ordering the pro and hope for better.

Seriously, from my experiences just now, I got what I expect and wish for. I don't know why or how you got this information about the small version without Bluetooth 'cus it would be sad if we can't get Clip Studio Paint just because we didn't order it with Bluetooth but my Software Library said: "You can select 3 out of 3 software packages for a single operating system". I don't recommend the small size in any case, unless you are exclusively doing photo retouch. For illustration and comic, please, from Medium size and + (pro Large (L) is ideal). Indeed, if one is debating between small and medium for price reasons, don't. Despite probably less quality, in that very case go for a XP-PEN Star 03 or 06 (edit: maybe better the newer DECO range), you can get a size i'm not sure if even bigger in active area than Wacom's medium, for the price of a wacom small. Of course, quality, I don't expect to be the same, at all. And Wacom pens are battery free. (some other companies produce already battery free ones, too. Those are told to have less wobble. ) Wait...seems xp-pen has now a line of products without battery.... :) OKAY. These are the purchases I consider make sense, for going for a comics or illustration activity (trying to save the most dollars, that is .), as the new Deco line in XP-PEN and other stuff in artisul is quite impressive (but on the paper at least, the line of tablets for these tablets is low in features for Artisul....2k in LPI and 2k in pressure in Artisul , for non display tablets, is worse than Deco's 8k pressure and 5k LPI of resolution. Also, the Deco line... woah, 266 rps....) . The Deco line from XP-PEN, or at least , one of their products, had a very positive review from Borodante. And that guy is like Brad....honest. :) (attending to all signs, that is ;) ) In the XP-Pen , I'd go for the Deco 03.... Seems XP-Pen does this thing... instead of eliminating the old gen from catalog, it lets it be for a while, so it can maintain an ultra cheap line. I'd recommend ALWAYS go for the latest edge in technology for tablets, no matter what brand. But if in money issues, the specs of the "older" Deco, the "deco 01" is at least in specs in the list, already quite impressive. IMO, for the price, really deserves a go the 03. Both seem to be Medium size. Is 99 dollars for the medium, still cheaper than the medium in Wacom, if am not mistaken. (in equal circumstances, purchasing direct from their site, not amazon deals ! ). BTW... i don't really trust bluetooh in wacom alternatives.... better go for models for which that's only an option, not the only way to connect ! (haven't yet seen if is the case with some of the models) Deco 03 (looks freaking sweet) : www.xp-pen.com/goods/show/id/314.html Deco 01 (around 65 bucks, always at the date of checking this in their store, 27 march 2018 . Quite cheap for a medium size ! ) : www.xp-pen.com/goods/show/id/224.html Star 06 wireless, if that means - dunno- that it does not offer cable connection, i wouldnt go for that, also, 80 bucks is too near the 99 from deco 03, which I'd rather prefer, or even above the deco 01. I believe XP-Pen does too much segmentation, not sure on the details on each... but be careful when choosing, in how new is each model, and what's really each product for. Star 05 wireless, same advice.... XP-Pen has the largest active area of the 3, Wacom is 8.5 x 5.3 inches, Artisul's medium is 9 x 6 inches , while XP-Pen Deco 03 is 10 x 5.62 (almost 2 inches wider active area than Wacom's medium ! that's 3,8 cm wider ! ) Artisul has two HUGE advantages, so is a very tough decision among the two brands, similar situation which we have in their respective pen-display range : Artisul is said by brad to have less wobble in the pen than any other brand in the pen display scenario. this is huge... for anyone actually drawing. Second.... PRICE. Woah, these things are cheap. At least, if u live in the states, as is an US only store (amazon surely is a possibility for other countries ) is just 49 bucks !!!!! of course, despite is probably the cutest design, don't be fooled by that, is only 2k pressure levels and 2k something LPI resolution. The former, meh, not that important, even with 256 levels I could draw well... the latter, more of a worrying one. EVEN SO! if there's no wobble on the pen, this would be a better choice than all of the others, and still is larger active area than Wacom Medium ! At this price is absolutely stupid to go for the small size, in Artisul. Medium all the way unless you are literally broken (10 bucks of difference wont solve your life, if so). artisul.com/tablet-stylus/artisul-pencil/#1470182121764-eb4395a7-d13d us-shop.artisul.com/shop-all/pencil/artisul-pencil-medium/ Sorry, I couldn't find the products - other than pen displays- in Amazon in other countries. I guess one could purchase direct from their store, tho, if shipping does not become too expensive from the US. I could find the model in Amazon.com, though... and very important notice... MUCH BETTER customer reviews for the XP-PEN line, the Deco 01 (seems there's not yet customer reviews for the Deco 03, too soon....but tends to be a powerful sign ! ) than the Artisul's Sketchpads... Even while I don't always trust customer reviews there (can be competition, or very very non savvy users) , but reading those in detail helps you detect fake/wrong reviews. Instead, now is not only Borodante nice impressions about the Deco (I think was the 01) , is also the amazon customers, 5 stars average (so, top) out of 14 reviews. Not much, but is a quite nice %. Still, the Artisul has overal positive rating, but is worrying that the complaints of the very low ratings, even if a miniority, is about build quality and durability! While the deco has been built with an special hardness in the surface to avoid scratching it easily, etc. I wouldn't go ever wild with a tablet, anyway, is not your regular pen and paper, geez ! (some ppl is a bit savage) Also, to mention that Borodante mentioned several times that he noticed it is needed more strength to draw, and all did seem was to produce the sensation of actual sketching, as you know, it never was like hovering some felt over a plastic, which is what most of us do to not scratch our dear wacom. Even so, I'd have THE SAME care and delicacy with these Decos, don't trust on anyone saying a tablet is strong and sturdy. None is. They can last you many years if treated carefully, tho (I'd expect Artisul's sketchpads , too) So, totally. i'd recommend the XP-PEN Deco 01 (probably much better picking the 03 model than the 01, even if the nice reviews have been for the 01... I'd be inclined to think that the golden rule works : 03 is surely all what 01 is but better) for those really with serious money problems. if can aford till 99 bucks, no doubt, go ahead for the XP-PEn Deco 03. And if can afford it, the safest bet ever , and I believe it will always be so, is just a Wacom medium, latest gen, the one in this video . But if not a photo retoucher, PLEASE, the medium size. My whole point is that is WAY worth better a Deco 01 or Deco 03 than a Wacom Small, any time and in any case, just for the size issue. In photo retouch, you only really need the pressure sensitivity, and the more, the merrier in that case. Not so much a crazy precision/accuracy for line work as you need in comics (at least in my art style in comics.. as your mileage may vary, depending on style ) . That said, I am personally NOT comfortable at all with medium size. I only say it is at least workable. Anything for me below Large is just nonsense. But I work in this. This is not a bash on wacom . Their products are the best, imo. but depending on prices, you'd better go for alternatives in some models. (ie, I'd rather go for Artisul in pen-display than for a cintiq, in the 16 range. and surely as well for any size between 22 - 27, I'd just go for the incoming 22 Artisul model, rather than any other, instead of an expensive Cintiq 27 or newer 32 . Money in those numbers in $ makes the alternative the single possibility for most.or at least, the sensible one. ) . But again, I'm lately more of a fan of non-pen-display workflows, even without considering price. So, for example, I'd choose easily better a Wacom Intuos Pro LARGE (Paper or non Paper) rather than a alternative brand's pen display, no matter what size, 16 or 22. With a Wacom MEDIUM, you do NEVER go wrong (is always my solid advice for people with less deep pockets), in any case, must leave that extremely clear. Is the safest bet. And for serious illustration and comic, working more than 2 hours a day (ie, about 6 - 8 at least ), needing precision, quality, durability, no hassles.... I can only recommend a Wacom Intuos Pro LARGE. (sadly my XL not anymore produced, but is too large even for a two tables' setup like mine, also, that model came with the cable ATTACHED (ugh)....but still no breaks (neither scratches! nor surface deterioration of any form! usage of 10 hours a day... I know, should be 8....) of anything, and I believe is 8 to 9 years now....I'm careful, tho. Very. ) But it is nice that there are now PROFESSIONAL solutions for ANY pocket. It has been sad that some artists (specially the young ones) couldn't afford a serious solution for the money issue (ie, STUCK with a terrible size of active area, the Small one. ). Not the case anymore, thanks to the new brands. Is not a bash of any brand. Is praise for the 3 I like more (yiynova is nice in my book, too..I don't like so much the others, mostly for specs/reported issues ) but noticing certain cons and pros in each range (I have highlighted cons in the 3 ). My 2c. I hope is useful for someone.... (why I do these comment-reviews-walls-of-text (with info I could keep just for my own) just below a video review is sth which I myself can't either explain.... )

I just bought the WIRED small pen tablet. Looking forward to using it and getting used to it. I used to draw with the MOUSE and got fairly good with it, so getting the feel for the tablet and pen...feels a little wonky right now. But from what I have heard from actual ILLUSTRATORS, you can't go wrong with this drawing tablet. Mine came with additional software once you register the product. Corel Paint...YES!! Especially as I've been using a waaay older version of CorelDraw for a million years now.

People, do not buy into the "bundled software" pitch. That should have absolutely zero weight on the merit on the hardware itself. There's far too much stuff out there that's either free (Gimp or Krita) or cheap (Mischief or Art Rage) for that to factor in in any meaningful way.

So I have a question: I want to get a graphics tablet that I can use for osu! and digital art that’s under $150. For the most part, I’ve narrowed it down to the CTH-480 and this (CTL4100). So it seems like the easy decision would be to go with the CTH-480 because so many ranked players use it and there are so many great reviews about it. My only issue is this: it’s nine years old, whereas the newer Intuos (CTH-4100) just came out last year. Are there any advantages to the 4100 besides the fact that it is newer? Will the 480 be outdated soon? Is it still good for digital art? Thanks.

I have a previous version of Intuos Draw - Small. It's really hard if you have a large screen. Finally I bought an iPad Pro and it felt more natural than this small tablet. My advice is if you can go for the Medium as small will feel very limited and if you are a 30+ guy it'll take a toll on you :)

@brad curious if the ergonomics vs the pro tablets made a difference? having the extra tablet on the side for your wrist to rest on. Im on an old intus pro 4. mainly use the tablet instead of a mouse, have used their bamboo tablets in the past and noticed that to be the biggest difference. a smaller tablet w same ish working area would be great, also my tablet is offically no longer supported so at some point i wont be able to use old drivers.

* * * Aloha Brad, no comment (OR evaluation) of 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨/𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐫 programs...? Maybe that's why I'm having a heck of a time... (sigh) perhaps they're not compatible. * * * I have the small BT Intuos. I had a CTE-630 Sapphire previously. I grew accustomed to the ease of use for that system. This new small Intuos has me completely exasperated... The pad mimics the screen such that if I want to pick a tool, I have to pick up the pen and move my hand to the left of the pad... when I want a color, I have to move the pen and my hand all the way to the right of the pad. With the Sapphire, I was able to leave my hand in the same spot on the pad... I could move the cursor across the screen by picking up the pen, moving it a few inches in any direction (without moving the position of my hand), and when I placed the pen back down, the cursor was still in the same place when I lifted the pen. I could then move the cursor across the screen by simply leaving my hand in the same spot and just picking up the pen moving it a few inches and then back down again. * * * After all that; I just figured out how to do that with the BT Intuos... 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡... I guess this pen is more sensitive; I just need to raise my hand to get the pen far enough away... then when I put it down again, the cursor appears where I left off... (sigh) * * * Walking through the problem again in order to give you a more detailed explanation solved my problem... You're amazing... thank you... (LOL) * * * Until that time. . .
