Cena had massive backstage power and had Vince's respect, and Chris Jericho said people would talk to John before hand and say "look we can't do things this way cuz it won't work out well" and he wouldn't listen and when it ended up failing Cena would say "I'm so sorry I just thought if we did it my way it would work. I should have listened". Nexus was so over as heels they could have had even the fans scared they might get beat up. John knew what he was doing and buried Nexus when they were about to touch the top of the mountain as a modern faction. Vince may be in charge but if you make him money he listens to you and John was one of those.

Cena has always said he doesn't decide who wins and he just does what he's told but I'm pretty sure if he fought for the nexus to go over then they would have and cena knows that,loads of people in the past have refused to go over and I'm pretty sure Vince would have listened since cena was the cash cow and face of the company but cena simply chose not to do it and has done it more times than people seem to remember.

Now I might be one of the few who was happy but the vast majority of fans weren’t happy with Roman going over Cody at Wrestlemania this year. I really would love to give Vince truth serum to get some straight answers

Regardless what Wade thinks, he was an employee and Vince was the boss. And Vince was right thinking Cena going over was great for a venue filled with Cena fans. Guys like Barret just dont believe in themselves so they're over the next time around
