Fun fact,: The prize he won was that he was the first NXT contestant to receive entrance music. Also, the wind promo was the second promo Wade cut during that segment. They had to do a tie breaker round with him and Skip/Ryback. That's where Ryback decided to go in business for himself and ignore the topic.

He wasn't buried. He would then go on to lead two more heel factions, and win the IC belt multiple times. He also had a gimmick that was over with the fans. He always got injured before he got a major push which is why he never became a main eventer. But I agree he should have gone farther.

Man, Barrett has been my favorite since that promo. I still think Wade has a good run left in him. Be it NXT 2.0 or a surprise Rumble appearance followed by a nicely built feud, he still should be the first-ever English World Champion in WWE history.

I loved wade Barrett. The angle, instead of nexus, should have been wade vs the losers. During the intro question on this video, I immediately knew he was referring to the promo episode.

I remember being at that NXT show in the O2 Arena, Barrett really showed his strength on the mic. The best thing Justin Gabriel did that day was make Matt Hardy fall off the ropes during his entrance.

Just think if he doesn’t have that “promo” n fails that challenge like everyone else…Nexus is never formed so you miss a good amount with that story n you might miss out on NXT becoming the breeding grounds it became with HHH creating new stars like The Shield n Bray Wyatt. I guess in a way Wade saved wrestling in a round about way
